Text for me with I suppose 1 or 2 pics to back up.
Seen loads of profiles and you think ‘oh aye, tidy...’ then read the profile before reaching for the block button.
Status’ are a good filter too. Some ridiculously graphic ones from females (suspect not actual females.) |

"Both. The pictures attract me but if I read the profile and they sound like a dick, the pretty pictures become less appealing. "
How's mine... dick sounding? Or passable? |

There and to the left a bit |
I think it's a number of factors OP including BOTH your profile text and pictures which are the initial attractors.
You can then add into that things like attitude, approach and expectations that may come across in messages, or forum posts etc and of course a connection and chemistry on some level.
Just as with attraction in *normal* life it probably comes down to a very small minority of people that all of that falls into place with so the key is finding those that it does |

A message to me or pictures are what catch my attention in the first place.
Bear in mind that pictures don't tell the whole story. Some people are better at picture taking than others. And phone cameras can distort things a bit.
I then read the profile. You can get a good sense of someone from what they write, including what they say in the forums if they post there.
For me it's about the whole person. It just makes any conversation or meet a whole lot better. |
