So I recently signed up for my local park run x

Got a bar code x

It’s 5 k round my local park x

Over 500 run or walk each week x

It’s officially timed x

And staffed by wonderful volunteers x

It’s a great way to keep fit x

Only problem it’s a 9am start !

Any other park runners here?

Post your P/B

I didn't know you could walk a park run. Have I got the balls to walk a park run.

Loads walk park runs! I volunteered at my local one and a lady on crutches walked it, when she finished she got the loudest cheer!

Oh, in that case I'll look into doing Shrewsbury Park Run.

Run, walk or crawl it doesn’t matter. Just nice to get out there

Haven't done a park run yet. I normally run early morning around 7:30. Love the peace and quiet

'milestone' T-shirts.

Juniors (under 16) white one after 10

Red one after 50 runs

Black one after 100 runs

Green one after 250 runs

Blue one after 500 runs.

Purple one after 25 volunteer duties

If all goes well, I'll get my green 250 this year.

The T-shirts are decent, proper technical fabric for running.

parkrun is 'free, for everyone, forever' and you can't come last. There is a volunteer who is the tail-walker, who tells the volunteer marshalls, that they can finish.

Run, jog, walk, it's not a race (except against your previous times)

My PB is 29:59, but I'm happy to get sub 40 these days.

There's a few parkrunners on the forum.

I've walked parts of Shrewsbury parkrun, it's got a couple of steep hills. But also downhill stretches, and beautiful flat stretches along the river.

I did my local park run on Saturday- in my head 25 minutes is good?

Kind of 5 mins a k x

I got sub 25 so delighted x

My female friend walked it and got below 50 mins

So it’s definitely an event for everyone x
