Apparently they were going to launch drones at Heathrow tomorrow but police rumbled them. Good target or not?

On the whole I agree with their Stance.

However, putting people's lives at risk is stupidity, and can only damage their message.

And powered their drones by waterwheel.

How would they feel if someone lost their life because of their actions?

Flying to another country for medical reasons for example. I'm not talking imminent surgery but let's say they were off to see specialists to talk about future stuff. They've been looking forward to this day for months as they can see it being the start of the rest of their life.

Boom, plans scuppered and so are their hopes. They could have saved for years for that to have it taken from them in protest.

There's always more than meets the eye, no matter how trivial something may seem.

The makers of drones could be critiqued for not building in a thingymabob that causes the drone to land in a cowpat if it flies over a fence of an airport.

A couple of years ago I decided make a concentrated effort at using my green bin properly.

I was gobsmacked at how much went into it, and how little now goes into my "ordinary" bin.

Does piss me off a bit when the bin lorry just tips it all into the same hopper though.

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

Pisses me off even more as I'm charged for my green bin.

I saw a news item a few weeks ago that showed social media images of some of the leaders of the extinction rebellion movement driving high emition cars and some on holiday abroad days after the London protests.

It's a classic case of "do as say, not as I do"!

Central

I read that they told the police where they would be and were to use ones no higher than a body, so no safety risk. It appeared like a token threat, ie it was publicity raising only.

The principle of preventing massive world damage is great via peaceful protest. I'd not do it. Their tactics may be better if different but they'll carry on with news headline catching.

One can also look at it in a different light.

The plane was already scheduled to fly, her message is to try and change those who control the airways. They 'wont' go to her so she needs to go to them. I don't see any real hypocrisy here.

Not using that plane wouldn't have made any difference because it was already scheduled. Now if however she chartered a plane, then yes hypocrisy

She believes in what she's saying and is living it mostly too, so again no hypocrisy.

I tend to hear this word miused here on fab a lot, not it it's correct form but used mostly to put someone down.

Just seen the news, and finally the public have done something positive to deal with the morons.

It’s about time we all woke up and stopped the extinction rebellion fuckwits from disrupting our everyday lives.

They say they are doing it to give our grandchildren a better life. Well I ask this question, will our grandchildren be thankful to live in a world without any industry, power, technology, and all the things we take for granted? I think not, and the sooner extinction rebellion become exctinct, the better as far as I’m concerned.

As a side note I’m sat at home on my own with a couple of men at the other end of the house who are fitting a new boiler. As I saw the dickhead being hauled off the roof of the train, I burst out laughing and the guys came through to see if everything was ok. As I told them, and they saw it on the tv, they both laughed too and said it’s about time we took things into our own hands with the disruption those idiots are causing. Best thing I’ve seen on the telly for ages

Methinks at least 2 of the idiots won't do that again though.

I think they genuinly believe the world is on their side and have no grasp of how much they're pissing people off.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective, elements of our society could be galvanised into action against them after seeing Joe Public in action.

We could see a lot me people taking physical action against them in the face of their unreasonable, irresponsible and selfish actions.

Their website seems to place environmental issues in a poor second place to their actual agenda.

Today's events by ER was an Own Goal.

Effectively, they alienated those they thought they could attract to their cause!

Rather ironic they held up the more energy efficient modes of transport to express their doctrine!

As for the commuters who took matters into their own hands and meted out their own punishment, good on them.

However, some scumbag Ambulance Chasing do-good lawyer will try to defend the protesters and sue the commuters!

Bunch of cunts.

Endangering lives to push a point of view? Fuck you all.

Saw the video of that doctor trying to climb on a train, then getting dragged down and given a kicking.. i would have joined in. (My ex used to work on board trains, and have seen the after effects on those who have been on trains when they have hit people -its horrific)

If they want to make a difference, go and volunteer at a charity, lead by example.

"Just seen the news, and finally the public have done something positive to deal with the morons.

Best thing I’ve seen on the telly for ages "

Just like they are taking things into their own hands no doubt. Very good indeed

I see no difference between their actions and much of the responses by most on here towards them.

Sounds like much and the same,

Apart from ER are trying to prove... some sort of point(s) by fucking over ordinary people who are trying to make a living. At the last sit in there was a lady who couldn't get to the hospital because of the disturbances and missed the passing of a relative. Moments like those are so precious, and to have them taken by someone with no real clue is incorrigible..

"Ive still not found the limit of how many times i can watch those guys getting pulled off that train! it's so beautiful!

There's a great clip on the Guardian website.

See the second idiot on top of the train, watching his pal get hauled off into a kicking.

He doesn't know what to do. Then, when someone climbs up to "help" him down all his bravado disappears without a trace as he runs away.

It's brilliant!!!!!!

Arseholes.

Before being pulled into the hell of "the working class"

Were any of those pulled off the roof, those eejits who glue themselves to surfaces?

Then authorities spend ages doing everything safely! F*** That!

Let them leave their skin on the surface they were attached to! If they need hospital treatment, follow their hatred of polluting transport, and let them WALK to the nearest A&E."

We were discussing the idiots who glued themselves to the fronts of trains earlier today.

Someone asked what I'd have done.

I said I'd leave the fucking idiots there and still run the trains.

I imagine being glued to the front of an intercity 125 at 100+ miles an hour would have helped loosen their resolve and bowels.

Imagine needing a shit but being glued to the front of a train at 100mph.......

Or even worse, trying to stay on the roof of a train as it goes round bends on the track but their own applied Super Glue does its job!

Better still they cannot escape the overhead electrical connections! At least that would keep them warm - sort of!

So I watch the news at lunchtime and laugh at the fact that ordinary people drag the ER yobs who have been banned from London anyway, from the train they are demonstrating on because they just want to get to work.

And that’s the same as the the ER yobs who broke the law, caused countless people to be late for work, and who clearly have no regard for ordinary people who just want to get on with their lives.

OK, cool.

Yeah, that sounds about right for this country - never mind that the protestor's actions wee illegal, go after those that stopped him causing a disturbance

All our priorities are arse backwards....

And I would have. Fuck 'em....

And those twats that glued themselves to other things. Get a crowd together and pull them off (not in that way... )

Or get a giant paint scraper.

If they leave half the skin off their hands behind, tough - no one forced you to do what you did

A protest about the excessive and unreasonable use of speed cameras in the wrong locations would be more useful.
