So I'm on my 3rd listen of Paul McKenna hyp notic gastric band audio book. It's yet another attempt to help my quest to drop a few dress sizes.

Probably not convinced by it (but it does make me sleep)

Have any of you lovely lot used hyp nosis for anything and did it work?

I tried calming mindfulness hypn*sis cd’s when i had my last episode of full on depression. I spent most of the time wondering if i was hypn*tised yet, then thinking i couldn’t be or i wouldn’t be wondering if i was! i was soothed but that was it i think.

My mum had hypn*therapy back in the day to give up smoking and she said it worked for a few years. Willpower won through in the end though.

I tried hyp-notising myself in the mirror once...now my reflection thinks he's a looker!

It's powerful but I would recommend having a live person working with you, rather than a recording. They can tailor their interactions to your state of mind and responses, as well as guide you more expertly.
