Do you ever feel your innocent remark has been misunderstood because of an unrealised innuendo?
Do you ever think your cleverly crafted double entendres have gone over people’s heads? |

All the time. I’m a very jokey person - sometimes my jokes fly straight over their head & they appear to be almost offended by them.
But the Irish accent does confuse some English people very easily |

It works perfectly fine when the other person is on the same wavelength
If things get taken out of context, it’s how they’ve read it and not necessarily how it’s written, even with emojis
Some will always take offence no matter what you say or how you say it
Don’t let it bother you and move on |

Mehrabian theory is your friend here..
Only 7% of what we communicate is verbal, then you can factor in someone else interpreting it through their own experiences and emotions. Which is why emojis came in, to signify mood or inflection of the written word.
Ask any guy who has received a reply from a lady that just says "fine" and watch the panic. |

I think that most of what I actually mean goes over most people's heads. That's deliberate

Unfortunately messaging is just emotionless typing, as 80% of communication is said through body language which unless in person most of the time falls flat! |
