"Love or sexy ugh! Those terms make my shit itch
That's proper tickled me, never heard makes my shit itch. I now need to find a conversation where I can use that. "
Glad it made you smile! |

"Me too baby babe babes hate them all "
Depends who says it to be honest. If someone says hey babe on a message it makes me cringe and I wouldn’t even answer. If you know someone well it’s different. |

"Christ.
I'm from Yorkshire, we call everyone pet names here.
True "
Love the look of resentment when I am in Yorkshire sometimes and they hear my strong cockney accent lol |

One of my pet peeves is terms of endearment also coming from people who don't know me and have no intimate connection.
Coming from a loved one is fine but from someone else is just annoying, weird and uncomfortable
Where I live everyone uses them to complete strangers.
"You alright sweet?"
"That all duck?"
"Hows you babe?"
"That'll be £2.60 love"
Guys on here calling me babe and sexy etc from the 1st message or few is just tacky. Could at least wait till they meet me.

"But they’re not calling you Babe in the pig in the city sense, are they?
Why do some women take what’s meant as a compliment as an insult? "
Why do men sound so irked when their compliments aren't welcomed? |

It's patronising and assuming a level of familiarity we don't have. It's not appropriate. |

'Hun' really winds me up...closely followed by 'hunny', 'babe' and frankly any other patronising diminutive that men think makes our knickers wet and fall automatically to the floor. |

In my neck of the woods, everyone calls everyone
"Duck"
....Alright Duck, How's things going Duck, What you been up to Duck......
It's a term of endearment, not meant to offend....but I wouldn't write it to someone one here until they'd met me and realise it was just my way and me not being at all patronising!!! |

It depends on the situation and the tone of delivery. At work I can't stand babes. Or flower. But out of it I don't really mind them. Regional dialects and generational sayings. I try not to get irked by them. Maybe hun though. I'm not a "hun" type of woman. |

When I first moved to Yorkshire I got freaked out by strange men calling me ‘luv’. Now I regret that it is dying out. But bus drivers etc don’t know my name, here it (or our pseudonym) is on show. |

Depends on what part of the country you come from. As far as I'm concerned, such words are just a part of where I grew up. I tend to call men, mate or pal, and women chuck, Chucky, or my lovely.
It's never ment particularly for the individual, but a generic, non threatening and friendly greeting. |

"So do I. Most pet names get on my nerves a bit. Prefer nicknames I've earnt."
It's like someone scratching something inside my brain when i hear 'hun'
On a more serious note. Just feels more personal. |

Same here! I'm not sure why but it's true, maybe because I can't imagine using those words myself. |

All those are fine with me. I struggle with Missy purely because i was married for long time and don't feel like a Miss. Have far more of a problem being called 'mate' but the pet names listed so far are all feminine enough for me. |

Being called beautiful, stunning or sexy by someone who hasn't even seen your face is totally different and seems far more shallow than pet names |

Lifes really too short and too precious to have anyones gears ground by a term of endearment.....
Call me what you will, or don't call me....
Its not going to make me rant and foam at the mouth |

There's a difference wanting to be recognised for who you are with people using the wrong pronouns anyone wouldnt be happy being misidentified.
Il also add though even when people make the effort to try use appropriate pronouns to be snapped at and told no it's their, them or it when it's easier to be told what pronoun they want than people guessing.
Terms of endearment are meant for people who have an intimate connection not frivolously used
Having a guy calling you babe in the chatroom and he's just called someone else babe. It's patronising, lazy, inconsiderate and shows they lack any respect. Being overly intimate before getting to actually know someone is a huge turn off also. |

I'm happy to be me too. I can't be anything but me. Whether I'm wearing guys clothes, women's clothes or whether I'm not wearing anything at all. I'm still me not some random persons babe or what ever name they choose they have no right using.
I see you're offended by my previous comment I meant no offense. But you don't know me I don't know you whether you're a she/her/they/them/it.
I'm apologise that my sharing of my experience of pronouns offended you. As if you're the only one to be effected by them.
I'm happy to be a pansexual polygamous human being.
I wear my cocks with pride too even if they are detachable, feel free to give my cocks cute names. |

.. because it's over familiar if coming from a total stranger-projecting an intimacy with the recipient which doesn't exist, in the hope of winning favour and getting sex out of it. |

Doesn't bother me, it's never something I would ever do but life is way too short to let things like that get to me at all which is just as well living in a part of the world where everyone calls each other anything but your name it's grown kinda sweet though still laugh when a 20yo girl calls me "burd" |
