Yes, especially when you disagree, to check if this person is being trollish or just genuinely seeking advice.
Looking at the profile is the only thing you have unless you know them personally. |

Sometimes but it could become like replying to all messages - it could take too much effort.
I tend to take people at face value, even if curious. Their profile is just another manufactured aspect of them. I'm usually much too busy moving on to the next thread. People who need to argue aren't particularly interesting |
