"Pretty much any Tarantino film excels in this department. Enjoying Once upon a Time... at the moment certainly. Grosse Pointe Blank is also outstanding."
Tarantino makes an art of mixing music and imagery |

So true - the opening sequence of Jackie Brown is mesmerising. |

You could do a list of Tarantino ones (Kill Bill hasn’t had a shout yet as far as I can see - great soundtrack).
A new one - ‘Bad Times at the El Royale’. Very Taratinoesque in every way, including the great soundtrack. It’s on Spotify.
Dirty Dancing has a great soundtrack too. Otis Redding, Solomon Burke, Bill Medley, Patrick Swayze - all the greats |

Also - ‘Wall Street’. Opens with Talking Heads ‘Naive Melody’ which is sheer musical perfection |

Love Grosse Pointe Blank. Agreed on Jackie Brown. Dazed & Confused has my favourite intro & a great soundtrack. Baby Driver, Adventureland, Big Lebowski. Only Lovers Left Alive is great if you like snarling, fuzzy, droney guitars. |

Did anyone see the latest in the Transformers series, Bumblebee?
Not that I'm claiming it to be the greatest, but there are some awesome 80's tunes used in the movie |

"Anything that was scored by Ennio Morricone."
Yes. The dollars trilogy working up to "ecstasy of gold" at the end of good, bad and the ugly.
Anyone for Michael Nyman's music, for the Peter Greenaway movies? |

Some great mentions on here
Pretty woman actually has a decent soundtrack - David Bowie, red hot chilli peppers, Natalie Cole, Roxette, Jane wiedlin (load of you going "who" right now? Google you'll probably find you know more of her stuff than you realise)
Goodfellas has an excellent soundtrack
I have a soft spot for the graduate soundtrack too being something of an old hippy
Baz luhrman does cracking soundtracks "lovefool" "love is the drug" "Empire State of mind" "back to black" "everybody's free"
But one of my favourites is from a not quite so well known film - the big chill - Motown classics and hippy favourites from CCR and procol harum

"The original Point Break, Last Action Hero and Tropic Thunder soundtracks are my favourites "
I think all Vietnam movies should get a pass. From Forest Gump to apocalypse now they have unfailingly good music.
(Possible exception of "Bird is the word" in Full Metal Jacket). |

I can’t think of one but commenting so when Mr. Cagey checks to see the forums we posted on recently, he will find this thread and give an exceptional list as he will remember everything I forget . - Mrs |

Looks like we’re heading for the Danger Zone here "
Yes! In my contempt I wrote “is” instead of “of”! |
