i’d say yes, our days have become very repetitive over the past few years, we really should do something to get out of the groove.

I was stuck in the same old shit routine too;

So 6 months ago I quit my job and went self employed...it’s been 6 months of stress, worry, and emotional and financial near-bankruptcy...but totally worth it, I don’t regret it for a second!

I’m definitely out of the routine now!

Sorted loads of stuff out

Done 3 Charity Shop runs and a tip run

Also been up to new house to check on builders progress and drop a few bits

Came home and wrote a shitty yet polite email to the builders who had left the back door closed but unlocked

When you’re in a routine rut, it ducks and not in a good way!

Plan to do something on your day off, depends on practicalities but maybe look at any classes that are around in your area? Just to widen the social circle, whether it’s a language, cooking skills, volunteering somewhere? Give yourself a shake up.

Fab and what comes with it is entertaining but that can be routine too

Energy and will is the key! Don’t start to do or expect any huge change straight away but small changes are possible...I’m not far off your age don’t be calling us old go to the local volunteering centre and see what they’ve got going on, or see if there’s any local meet up groups, they needn’t cost a lot of money but try to pick something you’re into to potentially keep it up.

Thats why joining here and all the initial people I met was so good. It was so totally alien a thing to do in my little boring life it was great.

Now I need bigger and greater rushes and that is proving harder to find

Is there something or somewhere you really would like to go and do. Just pick a day and sod everything, literally everything including work and just do it. Xx

Still relatively sedate in the grand scheme of things. Just a getting in the car and driving somewhere to experience freedom. And no plans at the other end of it other than what crops up.

If it’s any help, I’ve found that the difficult part is the 10 minutes before. Once you’ve got through that, it’s easier.

Don’t get hung up on doing something that has to be life changing, just do something small at first and enjoy it. Importantly, notice that you enjoy it
