Off the back of another subject your top 3 fav all time films and why.

For me.....

1. Shawshank redemption ~ great story that shows no matter how bad things get if you stay true to yourself there is always a way out

2. Jaws ~ 1st real blockbuster and a masterclass in how horror should be done. The music alone used to have me hiing behind the sofa as a kid.

3. The Green Mile ~ Frank Darabont + Stephen King = Match made in silver screen heaven

12 Angry Men - the 1957 original black and white version with Henry Fonda as a dissenting juror in a murder trial who slowly manages to convince the others that the case is not as obviously clear as it seemed in court.

Braveheart - The film has everything action, drama, comedy and romance.

The Passion of the Christ - You can't help but be moved by this film

'Top3' is impossible but I can pick 3 of my faves.

'Bad Boy Bubby'

Directed by 'Rolf de Heer'

Wonderfully simplistic, covers many questionable subjects - animal torture, incest, child abuse, religion, murder - love, All through the experiences of a 40 year old man 'Bubby' who's mother kept him in a bunker his whole life. An incredibly uncomfortable watch at times, although sometimes very beautiful. De Heer used different cinematographers throughout the different points in Bubbys developement as he discovers the 'real' world.

Brilliant film. Looks amazing.

'2046'

Directed by 'Kar Wai Wong'

Starring a still young and incredibly handsome Tony Leung . Regarded by some as 'The most romantic film ever made'

The cinematography is just perfect, a really beautiful film, that moves slowly, allowing the viewer to soak in every luscious image on screen. I'm getting goose-pimples just thinking of it really wish I could've caught this on the big screen.... oh and the outfits are so classy and sexy.

I'm SO going to get slated for these but...

Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope. It was the first real proper film I ever got into, and I watched it A LOT when I was a kid.

Monty Pythons Life of Brian. Simple comedic genius. Some stunning lines that have made me guffaw like an imbecile for many many years.

Shawshank Redemption. Just a fantastic story with a great feel good ending.

Empire Strikes Back

Shawshank Redemtpion

Matrix 1

Agreed top 3 is hard...as i wanted to include Dark Knight, Star Wars, Gladiator, Gone in 60seconds, back to the future 2, T2, ID 4. Human Traffic,

But those 3 probably are my favourite

Gone With The Wind - the drama, the acting, the settings, the romance etc. etc...

It's A Wonderful Life - it cheers me up when I am low, and it makes one appreciate what one has than has not.

To Kill A Mocking Bird - loved the book, the film is just as engaging, and Gregory Peck is gorgeous!
