Bore da , good morning dear friends Fabbers and Forumites.
I hope you're all feeling splendid and ready for a weekend of joy and chuckles .
I have noticed recently that a few chaps , in my area nor in the forums have been ranting about being over 50 and above people's age limits .
This is of course due to people's choices , and yes we are allowed choices, our bodies , our wants and needs.
So it's time to say a wonderful hurrah to us more mature people , we don't fun about our age and are proud of the people we are .
So chums
Lets share out positivity about being 50 and proud

I'm really happy about my age. I still look good and I have my fitness (allbeit assisted by heart medicine);I cycle 60 miles on Sunday, then another 60 on Monday and ran 8 on Wednesday - this is the fittest, healthiest and happiest I've been for years (although, according to friends, I'm annoyingly happy all the time).
I don't get many meets but I'm not looking for that anyway. Whilst age does change your body and (despite just being a number) it does have an impact, but maintaining a positive mind means that the impact of getting older can be replaced by new approaches and thinking. |

We're both in our sixties and didn't start swinging until our fifties. Every decade has its good points and its bad. We prefer to concentrate on the good.
I don't think that age is just a number. That discounts the not inconsiderable experience older people have behind them and the lovely exuberance of youth.
I think it's a shame that societies attitudes to age have made being older something a lot of people try to deny or even dread |

I'm not concerned about attitudes to us as far as meeting on fab is concerned. I just think it's sad that people don't celebrate their own maturity more. It's possible to be older but youthful in outlook and attitude but lots of people seem to want to be told they look young or claim to act like a 20 year old as if looking and acting like a 60 year old is something to be ashamed of.
I follow an 82 year old woman on Facebook who looks fabulous. She makes no secret of her age. I also admire Iris Apfel very much, she looks absolutely great in her 90s and is very vital. |

Its how you feel inside and I'm still a happy young chap at heart.
It's a shame some still fib about there age so they will meet younger people ,I stead of embracing who they are |

Lol, I was in the supermarket yesterday...Self Service area... waiting for a sprog with pimples to say I'm over 25 so I can buy some beer, when a lady next to me insisted that they serve "the young man" first, and I reckon she was about ten years younger than me
