So I’ve been wanting a half sleeve for a long time but I always thought I would like to get married before having one. I’ve now come to the conclusion that marriage is very unlikely to happen so today I’ve booked up to have it done in 2 weeks time. So what’s guys opinion on women over 40 with tattoos such as sleeves? |

Each to their own....they are more common/accepted than a few years back where they were probably more frowned upon....just make sure its really something that you like and won't regret or wish you'd chosen something else instead..... |

Most important thing is your opinion. You have to live with it. |

If it bothers you that much, should you get one? "
Absolutely not and what people think will not change my mind. I just thought it would be an interesting discussion |

Go for it . If you like tattoos then don’t let others put you off because of their perceptions. People from all walks of life have tattoos now so they should be no stigma attached.
The only advice I would give is to take your time and pick a good tattooist. Don’t go cheap because cheap tattoos tend not be good . |

"Whenever I see a woman or man with lots of tatoos I am put off, cannot stand them.
God gave us all beautifull bodies they do not need decorating"
My Mum and Dad gave me my body nothing to do with God and as my Dad had tattoos don’t think anyone got the right to say I can’t do the same |

Our bodies are blank canvases to do with as we like, hence me having mine permanently coloured in with 23 tattoos so far, mostly bright watercolour tattoos, good luck getting the sleeve, some places are very painful, especially further up the arm |

I thought this too! I've only ever had the top bits done with little ones so I could cover with a shawl, but wanted sleeves for an age.
By the time I save up for them though I'll more than likely have paper thin skin and bleed out in the chair

Have to say shame you’re not near us as the guy I use is absolutely amazing and only £50 per hour he’s always booked up months in advance because he is that good he will advise you on your ink too
Mine I can cover if I want but as I get older I don’t bother even gone back to wearing shorts I’m proud of mine and if others don’t like it’s their problem it’s my body
I regularly get compliments on them and as strange as it seems I forget they are there until I see someone staring
Only issue I had was covering them for our profile as we are very private and you would definitely recognise us lol x

For me tattoos are a personal thing. I like tattoos that are really creative and artistic. But I have a friend who has a collection of random tattoos, sailor Jerry types and some that literally look like they are from a bubble gum wrapper, but she wears them well and it works for her. I don't think age is relevant, I was 44 when I got my half sleeve. |

"Think it’s about my age as I’m getting on and don’t want to look stupid "
If you want one get one.
Age is irrelevant. The other people in the old folks home will have them too, when we get to that age. |

Make sure you have done your homework on the artist doing it and check out previous work (sounds a bit obvious I know) and the design is personal to you but don't get a generic one out of a book. Most of all its really will be with you for life so get the one you want and not something someone else says will look good. |

Think it depends on the quality of the tattoo and if it suits the person but hey if they are a nice person and the attraction is there then so what if they have some dodgy ink lol |

If it is a tasteful tattoo then go for it.
I have seen some ink and thought "what the fuck were you thinking" as they look like they were designed by their mate when they were 12.
Ink isn't always sexy. But do what works for you. |

Deposit has been paid today. I am having a custom one made. Showed him a few ideas of things I like and he is designing it for me. I’ve seen his work as I’m friends with his mum and he has done some great work on her. I think the only thing I’m really concerned with is the pain in a full day sitting |
