Love horror movies, and "It:part 1" was one of the best I've seen in recent times. The genre has fallen a bit too low nowadays, too many "found footage" movies and silly jumpscare fests in my opinion.

Totally agree.
The jump-scares are just lazy.
It doesn't make a film scary.
Just jumpy. |

Yep. Exactly that. Atmosphere, creepiness, that's what makes a movie scary. But to build those you need to actually have a good story behind your movie, and nowadays studios push for simple, easy stories that they can turn into a franchise. |

The Conjuring series is a prime example with that.
I liked the first.
But after that, I gave up.

I've only seen the first, and wasn't really impressed. A odd one I liked was "the Babadook", and most recently, Hereditary. |

I hated both of those movies.
Babadook was boring and I hated the kid.
Hereditary was overrated. |
