unusual wedding favours?

Jump to: Newest in thread

Hey everyone, trying to do a bit of research for our wedding, and the one thing that always stumps me is wedding favours, don't want the usual sugared almonds etc, anyone have any ideas on unusual ideas that we could have as an alternative?

Thanks in advance

I have a friend that makes personalised chocolates and love hearts sweets - it's just the wrappers that are personalised but they are really smart. If you're interested let me know and I'll send you her details x

.

Buy in advance, they should have a reasonable expiry date.

I'm stuck in a movie groove, so forgive me!

..but anyone seen 'Love Actually'? That church scene, with people standing up singing bits of of that Beatles track?

..not sentimental in the slightest...but even i thought that was..well, thoughtful.

Went to one where there was lip glosses for the females can't remember what the men had

Also had disposable cameras for each table which were collected at the end - a nice idea for getting a good range of photo's (obviously some would have been daft but also some great non traditional ones)

im sure they just paid a pound or two for each person going and then pinned them on to the name cards at the place settings

Is she a swinger?

Traditionally a love spoon is carved by a young man for the object of his affections - it was probably a token of intent for young women in long engagements - a tacit acknowledgement of the intent to set up home together - and of the fact that they were shagging? So giving someone a love spoon means you are, or are planning to, shag them....

Yes I'm being overly literal - the whole idea of 'wedding favours' makes me feel a little crotchety...

Why are they called wedding favours? Didn't do me any feckin favour at all at my first wedding where all the female guests got a crystal single rose vase @ £6 a pop x 100 of the fucking things!

Is this the grown up equivalent of kids party bags then? Who started that damn stupid idea and when did it spread to weddings?
