Three Body Types, have you a preference ?

I recently had to do research into my body type to get better results from exercise. Aparently there are 3 statures that all men and women predominately fall into, and they are pretty much genetically predetermined. Devided into
Ectomorph
Mesomorph
and Endomorph
Which translates for men respectively as
Tall and Thin
Atlethic and Muscular
Large and Big Boned.
Translates for women as
Slender
Hourglass
BBW.
So do you consciously find yourselves more attracted to a certain build sexually or in recollection have you mostly been with a certain build ?

I'm guessing by that translation Brian Shaw who's a 6'8" strongman is a freak of nature.
He is tall but not thin
He is muscular but questionably athletic
He is large but I can't imagine it has anything to do with bone density... |

It's just annoying when people spread misinformation about how human body works.
Where the hell are my missing inches considering my metabolism is supposed to play part in it... |

How would you feel if someone told you you were born to be fat or thin or muscular. What if you weren't, would you start blaming your genetics or your lifestyle, or both?
Stupid stuff like this makes people question and blame the wrong things, it's toxic and counter productive. |

You might want to rethink that statement..
Personally I go for hourglass to slim.. |

"People don’t really come in 3 types, we are a mix of everything, for instance I like big well built blokes, that crosses two of the categories for a start "
Many definitely do come in a mixture of two of those categories. That's why I said predominately. There is plenty proof also of people being able to transform their appearance from one category to another through exercise, lifestyle and diet.
Very interesting answers so far I'm very presently surprised to say |

That doesn't make sense.
There are plenty of women that aren't slender or Hourglass but certainly don't fit into the bbw category.
And for men it's the same. |

There are mixes of body types!
I don’t tend to have a preference as people can put on or lose weight/ muscle etc etc.
Their looks don’t define them but their actions, personality & soul does! |

"It’s more about their sexiness in general rather than a specific body type.
Some folk just give off sexy vibes, irrespective of what their body type is. So I couldn’t choose to be honest.
"
I agree with this. I just wish you could bottle the vibes as I could do with some. In the meantime I’ll just have to keep bottling my dodgy snake oil |

I agree, personality is much more important than looks, there's no comparison. I couldn't sleep with someone who's personality I didn't find engaging. |

Right, that's it. Everything seems like an over reaction if you haven't experienced it personally.
Let's just keep living in the bubble and everything is perfect.

I would say I am physically attracted to hourglass - BBW personally. Yes some slender girls are nice to look at here and there, but a filler figure really grabs me!! |

I figured out something similar about myself. As a teenager and in my early twenties I fancied slim and petite women. Now I can still admire a lady with a slender figure but find since then my sexual attraction is overwhelmingly for athletic to hourglass figured women with curves. |

What an interesting thread for a change. Nice to see thought put into replies by people who can actually comprehend the english language. Of course there is the minority of immature trolls who have jumped to being offended and abusive, probably because of their own body image or insecurities.
I love all types of ladies as long as they are confident but definitely go for well built to stocky men, but not gym obsessed Arnie wannabes |

Well your body descriptions for ladies are way out! Anyone who carrys weight is a BBW regardless of body type, slender/slim is any body type that's slim and hourglass is any size where top and bottom are the same size with a waist in between! |

I did a “calculator” thing on this before, it stated I was predominantly an Endomorph, and some Ectomorph.
Still, I don’t think people can be grouped into just three categories personally.
You can have an hourglass shape and be a BBW like myself.
Hourglass shape is defined by measurements, a significantly smaller waist with similar bust and hip measurements, would be an hourglass shape, regardless of dress size.
This kind of stuff interests me! |

From the information I've been given, my understanding is that most people are a mixture of two of these categories. I am predominantly a mesomorphic build and have been advised to follow an exercise regime that's tailored to my build. Since giving up contact team sports I had unwittingly been following an exercise plan andmore diet more suited to simeone predominantly ectomorph, basically I'd been doing too much cardio and not enough weights. I'd been too focused on the scales when I noticed the pounds going on initially after giving up gaelic football and rugby, and the training they entailed. Then by going down the wrong exercise root for my natural build, I began to quickly shed the pounds, but my energy levels plummeted. I had been sheding natural muscle mass. Now I'm heavier but toned and my energy levels are better than ever. Like lots of people I took BMI Index guidelines for my height to be my goal, which doesn't factor in peoples build varieties. |

Interesting!
I agree in regards to BMI it doesn’t factor in build at all, I used to use that as a guideline until I got into reading about body types and how inaccurate it can be.
I’m currently on a weight loss journey and find I lose inches far quicker than I lose pounds. I was obsessed with the scale and it was disappointing not seeing it go down, everyone wasn’t commenting on my weight loss, but I couldn’t see it, until someone said to measure rather than weigh, as I’m predominantly “endomorph”, it makes sense.
Endomorphs have to work harder and find it more difficult to lose weight, so true!

I totally agree while aesthetically i am drawn to photos of either toned and sexy ladies or girls with really curvy Arses, in reality if a lady is sexy then that automatically makes her more attractive to me no matter if she is not my "ideal" body type. |

I totally respect that personality is much more important than figure / build. In terms of dating and romance, personality is by far the most factor for me. What turns my head is a woman's looks, figure and her sense of comfort in her own skin, but personality combined with these is what keeps my peaks my interest. |

"Rugby build amd sense of humour fits into which??????????"
In amateur rugby guys are often mostly Endomorph in the pack and mostly Mesomorphs in the backs. Professionally there seems to be mostly mesomorphs in every position nowadays. A good sense of humour seems to be a good fit everywhere....except in the forums for some |
