Epic performance, just wish some of the other top order batsmen could take a leaf out of his book rather than treating Test Match Cricket like it was a 50 over game

where do you start? and this is just the last hour.....

Stokes bashing around the ball for fun...

the dropped catch with 9 needed...

the 6 that just crept over the boundry..

the review they should not have....

the one they should have reviewed if they have had the one left they wasted....

jack leach's superb "1 not out".......

He took the Geoffrey Boycott and Alistair Cook level of batting one stage further methinks. Will be interesting when Anderson and Smith return for the next Test.

Like the pundits have been saying, it's all about being able to perform when under the most intense pressure. Our boys did, they didn't. That was the difference.

I think they've got another 2 years left in them yet, if not overbowled, but we also have some exciting new prospects in County Cricket, they just need to hone their skills in the next couple of years to become top class bowlers.

I will have to watch the highlights. Is 4.50am here and I've just woken up.

I was in England when the World Cup was on. Thought I had scored some finals tickets, but they fell through.

He is one hell of a player. Shame he decided to play for England and not the Black Caps lol

It was absolutely astonishing. I watched it live this afternoon and it actually felt like I was watching the highlights! You don't really get batting like that in test match cricket. Incredible mental strength in exhausting conditions and I'm sure it will go down as one of the best innings of all-time. Arise Sir Ben!

I’m still buzzing at this result and Ben’s performance. To have a nail biting finish to the World Cup final thanks to Ben Stokes was thrilling yet 6 weeks later we have another one.

He has had problems in the past and he has his flaws but he’s redeemed himself and at times he was truly Bothamesque. I adore cricket and love it when it’s on the front pages as well as the back pages.
