Is it outdated to give a couple a present instead of money? If say they are together a long time and well set up in their own home? Would you rather a present or money?

It depends, if they have a wedding list then I'd prefer to buy something from that but if not I'd give cash or vouchers, especially if they already had a home together.

I like presents and I'd probably buy a present if I was sure they'd like it and it wouldn't just go to waste. If they wanted money though I'd give that instead!

I'd ask them what they want. If they said 'nothing', that's what I'd get them.

Merthyr

Give them a weekend away, not overly expensive and they'll appreciate it being paid for

your imagination

If a gift is from the heart and is something thoughtful and shows insight into their tastes and needs, I think anyone ould be thrilled. But if you're just buying something for the sake of buying it and aren't even sure it's what they would like or want, they'd probably prefer the money.

Don't most folk do wishlists and registries anyway for wedding gifts to give guests guidelines?

If they haven't asked for money where are they going on honeymoon? Could you book them a excursion or a massage on the trip?
