I'm rocking on a bit but still got a full head of salt-n-pepper grey hair, for which I am eternally grateful to the folical gods.

Recently though I've had this urge to just clipper it all off down to a number 1 setting. Save all the faf of going to the barbers, just wizz it over every week or so to keep it trim.

Scarlett thinks I am crackers but hey there's nothing new there lol

Do they still do that sort of thing for charity fund raising?

Look up Just Giving. You could do a page and send it to all your mates and see how much you can raise.

I used to have long hair down to my waist. I had it cut it all off when I was 24 and bleached the fuck out of it. That might have been one of my better life descions I've ever made.

I barber my own hair and other people’s. I find that long hair doesn’t suit me. I have a bald fade back and sides blended to a 2 on top.

If I go shorter than a 2 it doesn’t suit me.

Shorter hair doesn’t suit everyone, so I’d say go to about a 3 or 4 and see how that suits you, then go shorter if you want.

If it’s too short you’ll absolutely hate it and will want it to grow back. I’m talking from experience

Thanks for the advice. I used to have short hair but somehow my barber seems to have quiffed it and styled it over the years. Sometimes I wake up, look in the mirror and see a mohican on top of my head. I think he's preparing me for a possible comb over in the future lol

Go to a different barber at first and ask for something like a grade 2 on the sides and a 5 on the top. Then you can see how that style suits and then go shorter

Donate your hair to me OP I could do with some.

I shave my own hair with trimmers with no guards, 0. That's not the same as a wet razor 0.

I got sick of paying £10 for a 5 minute job so bought my own.

Hope you raise money doing yours. Do it in the summer

I didn't have a great deal of choice, but was the best decision I made...

In and out of the barbershop in 10 mins!
