I haven't done it for years but when I was younger on one occasion I got out of my bunk bed, walked downstairs, unlocked the front door and I was in the process of walking towards the road when my mum stopped me.

Another time I was staying away and tried sleep walking. I say "tried" because I was in a sleeping bag at the time. I woke up half way through slipping to the floor and bruising my coccyx

I never did it as a child and think now it's only when I'm really stressed over something but my sisters 2 kids both do it.

Don’t forget the sleep talking..including these sinister little laughs

I was awake half the night in case you tried to swallow my car keys or jump out of the window - when you jumped out of bed to switch the fan off I almost wet myself

I used to as a child brought on by stress i think. I used to leave the house and all sorts. I once knocked on a neighbours door and they had to bring me back home. I’d left the front door open and they shouted up to my mum and it scared the bejesus out of her. She had to double lock the door to keep me in from then on.

I remember standing at the top of the stairs fighting the overwhelming urge to jump down them many a time.

My mum used to wake up and find me just standing at the foot of her bed staring down at her. Like a scene from a from a horror film she said or i’d wake her up to show her my stamp collection. Only I didn’t have a stamp collection!!

And then when older it just stopped.
