I’ll delete this profile at the end of the day today (21/08) but didn’t want to disappear without saying thanks.
A few folk have engaged me in interesting (and sometimes intimate, indeed graphic) conversations – very enjoyable.
Unfortunately, nothing more substantive occurred – c’est la vie.
It appears that realistically there was little to be done – I could have spent time re-drafting the wording of the profile, added more and better photos, but in the end the lack of real interest is the result of one thing I can do nothing about – age. Older men are simply not compatible with the preferences of many people on Fab at all. Certainly not in my little corner of the world.
So, while in general it has been a fun experience, my membership of Fab hasn’t actually fulfilled the purpose for which I established it. This, while disappointing, has not been the least bit surprising.
I’ll probably try again in a few days, weeks, months or years; who knows, there might have been a few geriophiles sign up by then ??

I'm sure you're right. It's difficult to stop looking all the time if the profile is still live - just thought it would be more effective. Think I've got a bit of an addictive personality. It's a similar thing with booze - I was able to stop drinking altogether, but drinking sensibly - not so much |

9 weeks in this incarnation, but 6 or 7 months altogether. The restricted local "market" for want of a better word, doesn't leave much scope for optimism right now. I'm hoping it'll look different in a while. |
