I am never ill but 3 times this month I have been to the Dr. Latest is that I have sciatica. Puts a dampener on any fun (including golf) for the next 3 weeks.

Anyone got any recommendations on how to get rid. Dr gave me painkillers and offered to sign me off work. I hate being ill. Oh the joys of getting on in years

Go see osteopath/physio. Painkillers and a doctor's note won't fix it!

Having just been nosy and read your profile, I have to ask about the cheesecake, this is an important issue and specifics are required raspberry or lemon? Oreo or banoffee? Vanilla or exotic?

*sorry for thread drift OP!

you're being treated for the symptoms, you need to find the cause and treat that. In the meantime ask to see a physio

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

OP, you have to keep moving. Motion is the lotion. I'm self-employed and can't take that much time off.

I have sciatica from time to time and have some positions that make it easier. Check how you are sitting and try different chairs. Don't spend too long sitting still or lying down.

Osteo or physio to treat it rather than drugs. Go back to the GP and ask for a physio referral.

.

Stretching - you know where your pain is. Stretch that area to release/relieve the nerve entrapment.
