Apparently, true.
It was considered the done thing in the 60's 70's, so I believe.
Probably grown for two reasons.
First, to notify other swingers.
Second, it grows so tall, it obscures the windows from being seen into by passers by. |

Hahahahah no - I seen this like 2 years ago. It actually caused the sale of the planet to decrease as someone associated it with swingers.. if in doubt - give them a knock! ‘Excuse me ma’am, could I interest you in full swap? |

My parents bought their house in 1988 and it had pampas grass in the front garden... Parents definitely were NOT swingers and nobody ever came by expecting adult fun.
The previous owners did have a bar in the dining room so presumably held parties... But that wasn't unusual.
The pampas grass died 5 years ago. Mum still owns the house. |
