Hi Ladies,

This might sound like a load of old waffle but I’m gonna plough on anyway.

The last time I was on Fab I spoke to very few ladies, I guess I felt intimidated by many of you. This time around I’ve opened up more.

My god, some of you are so bloody lovely. Seriously!

There have been threads where some of you(and me!) have felt miserable and the lovely supportive messages that have followed have been nothing short of amazing and uplifting.

Women should big each other up on here, not the other way around.

We all go through bitchy phases, I think that’s perfectly normal.

In general though, you’re a sound bunch.

You ladies rock, and you should all here it more!

I think many of the ladies here are just lovely, so funny and intelligent and I’d love to talk to more but I do get intimidated, as we are a couple I don’t want women to think a sneaky man is pretending to try and get nearer lol I also don’t want to be like the people who send the annoying sort of messages - Mrs Cagey.

It's not a load of old waffle at all.

A couple of years ago I would say that I actively avoided becoming friendly with any women on the site; I thought them bitchy and self serving. I was a bit of twunt myself and would keep people at an arm's length. I think to some extent I felt intimidated by some. Not on an intellectual level but more aesthetically - I could never be anywhere as attractive as some (you, RubyWoo, Roxi and Ligeia spring to mind for obvious reasons!).

This past year I've started opening up more - that's not to say I'm immune to bitching, I'm not. But I've realised more and more that yes, I'm attractive (cute

) and that women can be so incredibly supportive and lovely. I'm so glad I have met and speak to the wonderful women I do - they've helped me through grief, through hangxiety and shown me that we're not that different. I've learned that we all have our own unique us that makes us hot as fuck.

I am all for women raising other women up. I think when women are true to who they are and do away with pettiness and squabbles they are truly beautiful.

Beat me to it! I find it harder to speak to the single women, being part of a couple. Don't really know why. There are lots of brilliant women on the forums who I think I would love to be friends with

The layers and politics around here make it tough sometimes. They really do.

As much as I like the boys, I don't want to be swimming in a sea of sausage.

I value the companionship and friendship of women (and other things but, ahem, not the point). In this context it really is invaluable. Particularly when we can lift each other up without subtext.

I'm still at the stage where I don't know any of you ladies very well, I kind of just sit on the sidelines and join in with some of the games - it's not that i'm unfriendly or find you intimidating, I've just always had mainly male friends and don't really know how to talk to women on more than a superficial basis (bit of a tomboy)

I am really looking forward to meeting some of you at the MLS though

I think there’s a kind of lady for everyone on here, which is what makes it interesting.

I’m not a girls girl - i never have been - and i don’t know any ladies personally or that well, but there are some very funny ladies on here, some strong women, some caring ladies, some intellectual sorts, beautiful and the bold and women who have been through hell and back in their private lives and yet still come out shining, seeing the best in people. And all those things are interchangeable and not mutually exclusive.

I think that is not something to be sniffed at. And i mean that in a non patronising way.

I think there are some absolutely great women on here, a sense of kinship even especially at times of need.

I don’t post much erudite stuff in the forums but it’s nice to read where people have given advice, thoughts and opinions in a supportive and constructive way. When I notice that it’s something i try to make a point of saying so. I know that I’ve been supported by the women folk when needed or I felt ‘argh’ so agree with what’s been said!
