I can't decide if I believe it or not.
Some people I know (including myself) are so in line with the traits of theirs that it seems obvious, others are just so not.

The trouble is star signs (and astrology in general) is designed to be be as vague as possible so that everybody can find some traits they can identify with. There was a very good episode of Penn and Teller's Bullshit on astrology, it pretty much sums up how I've always felt about it. |

For those who have said they have the traits of their star sign, how many other star signs have you compared yourself with?
I (Luke) am supposedly Aires. I checked what those traits are and I mostly align. Then I chose some other signs at random and found that I'm also very close to pisces, virgo and taurus. All believers should also be able to say they don't match up with other star signs for them to have any relevance.
The traits they describe are almost entirely positive (with some mild negatives), such as ambitious, caring, energetic etc. We all like to think we are these things because we recognise their value, so it will be very appealing to us to say we align with traits of our sign. I would take it more seriously if some of them said "You're an utter piece of shit. A real, snivelling, slimy arsehole whose rude, arrogant and impatient." I know people who line up with that, but would they that's recognise themselves if a star sign told them that's what they are? |

In a sagittarius and I think it's all rubbish.
Most star sign predictions are vague and people will find a way to link it to their lives.
As for characteristics, myself and Adam are both sagittarius and we are very different. We both have a couple of the characteristics sure, but again, most people will relate atleast a little to their 'star signs characteristics'.

Ive read a few star signs to match them to the people and some are quite decidedly accurate. Whether thats just by coincidence or something else who knows. I dont take a lot of notice of them but it makes for an interesting read |

Many people base their lives by someone who wrote a book. So.

The traits suggests that if you were born at a specific time, specific day, month year, place, moon alignment ect...I think that isnt nonsense...i m not saying go to google and follow the first horoscope you find.
Go to a reliable one. What they do is copy paste what they think is cool.
If you go to a reliable one, and you do your birth calendar, you ll see much less nonsense and more math, science, astrology and anthology |

And although , time can be measured using them I have zero idea what correlation you're trying to suggest with personality type at most the moon changes my mood depending on high or low tide
Simply put
It is either observed and un ambiguous that birth dates and personality traits directly correlate a statistically significant amount or they dont
The fact is they most certainly do not , the correlations that do exist are tenuous at best

As I suggest its existence as a concept has only one benefit and it gives us a greater insight towards part of the workings of the mind

I don't follow them or look for the "traits" in others... but I do enjoy seeing these threads pop up now and again and I have contributed in the past. It all started years back on Fab... the early days and cheeky star signs having fun... ha ha still remember some of the threads!
Some valid points from both sides in here... interesting views. For the record and those that don't know... it was my lucky day! Strange, but true. Had some good news. Who knew... star signs hey! Are they too good to be true!?
