I'm unsure as to class myself as cuvry or large on fab as a size 16 which seem to be the UK average size for a woman I find it insulting when I get called fat or told to lose weight I don't want to lead people on if I'm classed as large xx |

And trust me you'll hear about it no matter what you choose. Haters gonna hate, etc. "

Men like that are mysogonists who have an extremely jaded view of the world. Sad day for them though, with women becoming more and more empowered as time goes on. Thankfully these men are slowly becoming a dieing breed |

When I first joined I picked curvy. I felt fat but didn't want to be brutal about myself on my profile. Curvy helped me reclaim something positive about myself.
That may or may not feel right for you. But my thought process might help. |

"Curvy is a shape not a size so if you're curvy then put curvy!!! Don't ever worry what other people think! "
You can be curvy and slim, curvy and overweight or normal weight. You do you. |

I had that issue with how to categorise myself. I chose curvy because I was more comfortable and if someone thinks it’s a lie of some sort they can go away, I wear a 14 in trousers, but a 16 dress and size of clothing doesn’t dictate this as curvy hips, a taller body, bigger boobs all factor in and some people might think someone who’s a 16 look thinner than the size 16 right next to them. I really did struggle and question it but one person’s large, ample or curvy is not the same as another’s. You get to choose and they can talk to you and see your photos and decide what it means. |

You only have a few options to choose from
Add in that bit of body dysmorphia in us all and a penchant for labelling ourselves and others and you're in muddy waters
I see you opted for curvy - from the pics on show, I'd say that's about right for you
Size 16 isn't huge yet it isn't slim, so yeah curvy |

I hate that everything has to have a label. If your happy put what you want down if someone disagrees that's their problem ignore or block and delete if they say anything inappropriate. |

I’m going to label myself athletic after the great sportsmen who played darts in the 1980s "

What gives anyone the right to have a go anyone's body size. Everyone is different. I find women's bodies sexy no matter what the size, it doesn't matter. If that's what they think then fuck them. Be proud of who you are. |

I'm a size 16, had the same thought as you.
So posted as average.
There's plenty of photos of me on our friends pics so they get plenty of warning in advance lol X |

Those tick boxes on fab don't mean a thing.
I chose curvy because i am not large in my own eyes and my fab friends. And if other users would have said xs or medium on their profile then maybe i would consider it lol.
It's just a label.
Ps. Dont even start me on what fabuluous means lol |

Had a conversation lately where I mentioned her curviness as a means not to insult. She replied saying, "no, I'm fat".
Fat or curvy. Same thing? In my view, and not limited to, your fat if you have a spare tyre or round belly, legs thicker than mine and bingo wings. I had a round belly once and classed myself as fat much to my disliking. Let's call a spade a spade. x |

If somebody wants to advise you for health reasons, that's one thing, but nobody should be telling you to lose weight for aesthetics. Size 16 is a lovely size and you look gorgeous.
We tend to say curvy because it's seen gets a more positive reception, but refer to yourself however you want to. |

Not that it matters what I think but I sure see curvy, not fat/obese. x I've seen fat/obese being described as curvy. Another thing I see in this thread - "get rid of labels etc." "haters gonna hate" etc.
In response, I think we must bear in mind it's simply a description which can be both subjective and objective but never applied prescriptively. x |

I really wouldn't worry about your definition in the technical spec. Both can be used to describe a fuller woman. You have good pictures so everyone can get an idea of you. Just pick the one that you feel is most applicable to you. |

"It's up to people to self identify, empower themselves as they see fit. "
Well that’s not essentially true is it?
If someone is very thin and self identifies as curvy is simply isn’t true.
Just as someone who identifies as slim but is morbidly obese would be misleading a potential meet.
So if people are actually looking to meet others, it’s only fair to identify as what is, rather than what one may identify as, if that’s nothing like the reality.
The whole empowering thing is all very well but it makes no sense if someone is delusional. |

Which is why we have pictures.
I try to lift others up not drag them down. |

I’m not trying to drag anyone down, just being realistic.
If someone identifies as slim and shows pics that are clearly curvy or large, you can be sure plenty will tell them. And that certainly won’t lift them will it? |

When I was on here before I proudly called myself curvy I've since gained some weight around my stomach and hips and so don't feel sexy and comfortable in my skin right now so on my new profile I opted for large instead. It's back to curvy now as my boyfriend persuaded me that I'm still curvy.
So use whatever one works for You, but I would call you curvy |

Used whatever you think best.
Personally, based on your photos, I would go for curvy.
I'm a 14/16 at the moment but am curvy regardless of my dress size... so that is what I chose.
I think that as long as you have photos that accurately reflect your body type, how you describe yourself doesn't really matter.

I can confirm that they are most definitely male and female and very friendly ones too. Met them last year in Manchester.
And I'm definitely a woman too and I wouldn't call with a stranger. Not everyone is extrovert and/or likes calling |
