Walking down the only road I've ever known! |
Just had some for my brekkie and it got me wondering, the other day my son made some and said he'd put too much butter on, to which I replied you can never put too much butter on.
What's your opinion or what's your favourite topping for crumpets? |

Lightly toasted - anchor butter followed by marmite then topped with grated mature cheddar with a healthy sprinkling of garlic salt then microwave for one minute til it’s a big gooey mess !!!! Yummy xx |

Loads of butter and then do a stack/rotate action when buttering so bottom gets buttery as well
I have a specific way of eating them as well; nibble the outside off, eat the top, then the fluffy middle, and then the base |

Agreed. Never too much butter!!
On a side note, an ex and I used the term crumpets in place of sex. What started out as a cheeky necessity around her son and family turned into an exciting way of us discussing things in the open in front of people who knew nothing of what we were talking about. This moved on to a lot of exciting experiences in the presence of people who didn’t know better |

I’m such a pain in my own arse
I feel absolutely compelled to say the word ‘breakfast’ over and over again
I know I know - I’m an awful person
Just a bit of butter and marmite |

What's your opinion or what's your favourite topping for crumpets?" I like strawberry jam or Philadelphia lite and strawberry jam as well as the butter in both cases |

"Bussy introduced me to the world of crumpet loaf. For that I'm eternally grateful.
Cheese or lemon curd or plain but with fresh, lightly salted butter. So so good."
I do wonder what % of Crumpet Loaf buyers are Fabswingers
I should be on commission
PP - crumpets need to be toasted until crisp and slightly burnt underneath ('well done')
Then topped with best butter - and lots of it! |

What?
There is such a thing as a crumpet loaf?
As in a loaf of crumpet that you slice and put in the toaster?
Why have I not heard of this before and why am I not eating it right now?
Where do I get it Bussy? |

You have to leave the comforting Home Counties and venture up to the savage wasteland of the North alas. I'm not sure you're brave enough to do so (there's a bakery that's in and around Manchester that does it). |

It comes pre-sliced
Big thick slices - a weird mix that is half bread, half crumpet
It's fit!
As far as I know, you can only buy it from a chain of bakers in the North West called Greenhalgh's |

This sounds like my idea of heaven. Plus please do not add the butter until slightly cool as it shouldn’t melt too much.... |
