Do you read it? I do, cos you get news that the mainstream media dont give, in sweden there is a big campaign against it cos it exposes what is happening, it is even more popular than the news cos there is alot of censoring going on, having a free press is very important |

"How do you know that the news they are giving isn’t formed with a huge lot of bias ... and whether it’s real in the first place?"
I think that's the danger you take with any outlet. Verify the sources as much as you can and form your own opinions. Taking any written word as gospel is daft.
I try to read articles from a wealth of sources and remain openminded while doing so. |

I pretty much quit social media, ive stopped watching the news, i dont read the newspapers anymore.... im a much happier person.
In reality whats happening out there is unstoppable by the us looking at the pages/screen so its not worth the worry... thats the way i see it anyhow. |

I tend to find BBC extremely biased
Most news programmes are though ... they clearly lean towards one viewpoint and don’t hide it that well. Meli is correct , watch but with an open mind.
Especially if you’re interested in American news |

The fact that it’s called “alternative media” is already a big red flag. If something exists purely to act as an opposing force to the mainstream then it’s as untrustworthy as every other news source.
I tend to try and get my news from the Fact Check website. If it’s to do with science/technology/medicine then I’ll read the actual journal that it came from. Anything investigatory I’ll check the actual source itself.
I’m a big believer in critical thinking and if something in the news interests you then dig deeper yourself - definitely don’t take anything at face value whether it’s from the MSM or alternative media.
I’d actually say the alternative media is the most untrustworthy source, as I’ve often fact checked their claims and they are often untrue or misrepresenting information. |

In my view the mainstream media is riddled with corruption. It exposes worldly affairs in a way to promote hatred and anger amongst people.
You can only really understand this if you have links to other countries/cultures.
Alternative media is a good way to get real news as long as you have an open view. |

"All news has a point of view can never put 100% of your eggs in one basket. "
I find so many people do and don't want to except any other view unless the BBC or other major News broadcasters have announced it. |

I think the MSM should be held accountable to the country and the people. You can't cure a corrupt mind. The media are guilty of peddling misleading, and false information.
They are a service provider, we as the consumer want to know the truth, and need to know the truth. |

I only follow Arabic, Middle Eastern and North African media, and it's all very contradictory, and some is obviously censored
Saying that it's the Middle East so its bound to be.

We are not always getting the full truth and Joe bloggs on the street forms an opinion good or bad of a certain subject/s. Bad in most cases I would say.
Of course that's why it's called 'media control'. |
