It's not what you look like when you're doin what you're doin, it's what you're doin when you look like you're doin what you're doin. Express yourself
https://youtu.be/jW4VZ5J0fNQ
In what ways do you express yourself? Through the written word on forums or a blog? Do you have musical talent and let it all out through your instrument?(pardon the pun) Are you artistic/do you draw, paint or sculpt? Is dance your medium and you let yourself go to the music? Are you a builder or a Baker? An actor or a playwright? A gamer, a sportsman, or a pub quizzer? A good friend, or something else I haven't mentioned?
What avenue or avenues do you use to show the best of you?
Thinking on this about myself, my avenue has to be work strangely enough. I spend more time there than anywhere else and I work a large company with a few hundred staff. As I work as part of the maintenance team my day is spent keeping the place running, and making and strengthening personal relationships with the staff. It's like a little village here and I look forward to enjoying a joke and a catch up with my colleagues, as well as the sense of achievement I get when I a fix a problem for someone and get them going again. I'm at my best when I'm solving problems

Good thread!
I feel I'm at my best when I'm helping one of my sales team by developing them, visiting customers with them and helping them get things over the line. People go into sales for all kinds of reasons.... Some are told that they MUST because they're the life and soul of the party etc etc
Generally these are the ones that need the most development because they have a great personality but need to be fine tuned.... I help them achieve their goals and put food on their table and also help their customers get a better experience than dealing with a shitty salesperson.... This is what gives me my personal sense of achievement |

I work for a distance learning training provider, so my "day job" is travelling up and down the country carrying out information and enrollment sessions, so basically I am paid to talk.
Away from work, I express myself by, erm, talking for a hobby, as I am a presenter of a multi-award winning radio show. Also, I am in a band, and spend quite a lot of time on stage. I also curate and host a stage at an annual music festival.
But, when it comes to websites like this, I haven't a clue how to make a first approach. |

Awesome! You get to see the fruits of your labour blossom before your eyes. It takes a strong, intelligent and level headed person to thrive in man management and get the best out of people. Kudos sir |

Nice post-
I am at my best problem solving and organising things but also need a constant creative outlet. I write, I make things as well and working on making more time for it, but probably best achieved after summer holidays. |

Wow! You have so many ways to put your best foot forward, and they all sound great! I imagine you need to have a lot of confidence to present radio and also confidence in your ability to play in a band.
I think the difference with Fab is that a love interest wants you as a package, from looks to personality. You can be confident in your own skin and in your ability to engage someone in conversation, but it's still a bit daunting putting that first message out there to a random stranger. I like those nerves though personally, they keep us on our toes |

I feel I’m finally in a good place in life, I have an amazing job that allows me to what I like to do the most, help people. I’ve found a niche in the organisation I work in that allows a little freedom in what I do, and I’m making headway for promotion by talking about what is important to me and the people I work with.
I also write poetry, mainly for myself but it’s a good way to get my emotions out |

I express myself through music, playing guitar and singing, I write poetry when the inspiration strikes me, I express my values and beliefs through my work both paid and voluntary and through my day to day interactions. I like to engage in things I feel passionate about as that gives me purpose. |

I'm at my best on the hockey pitch. Captain and goalkeeper. Need to be vocal, giving clear instructions to my players, which they always appreciate. Also be encouraging and motivational and also being creatively insukting
I also enjoy the aggressive nature of being a keeper- needing to dominate and intimidate the opposition. Sometimes its really great getting the better of a young guy, but after the game, having a beer with him and helping him understand how he can improve.
Love being the guy who stokes the fires of the team ethic. Our club has had some problems recently, but my team has got stronger- bringing players into the club and keeping them there. |

I’m not the best at expressing myself as tend to stay quite private.
However, I’m a good listener which works well at work in my extra duties as a staff councillor and mental health first aider, and with friends and family. If I can help someone forget about their problems for just a little while and smiling, then that’s an achievement and a step in the right direction
For me I either write letters that don’t get delivered; or have a v&c or two; or more recently found my love for drawing again, all of which keep my mind focused rather than letting it wander |

I am at my best and flourish in unknown environments, sometimes very highly stressful environments, I sometimes work in a close team of between 2 and 6 depending on the clients requirements.
In my personal life I give some of my free time working with a group who help the homeless street children, feeding them giving them guidance and direction. Sometimes we personally pay for medical treatment that they may need, thankfully the Egyptian Government have started to create a much better and free medical service for the poor. I find this very rewarding.

I am at my best when making people smile.
I think it's why I am good at my job in a swinging environment as know it makes people happy.
I tend to play counsellor to a lot of friends and that's a part of it for sure - cheering them up and making them think positively again |

I express myself with music mostly, playing and occasionally writing.
I like making things too and can get really absorbed in a project.
I really wish I could draw though. |

Yes, I suppose I do have lots of confidence. I also have the perfect face for radio! |
