"You have a gorgeous figure OP I am thinking of starting a burlesque dance class to give me body confidence rather than focusing on changing anything " Thank you. That’s what I did. After my last child I developed PND and hated everything about myself, I joined a burlesque class and although I still have major hang ups (rely a lot on lighting and clever camera angles in my pics) I started getting my confidence back, and I got learn some shexy moves and met amazing people, so my friend pool grew too x You should definitely give it a go. The best burlesque artistes I’ve worked with have been a size 6, a guy, and a size 28, all amazing, sexy and confident xx

"Love this thread If you have a hang up about your body, don't. Few of us are perfect. Lots of ladies on here with boob jobs who'd love some of the lush girls on display here, just as some might want their concave bellies. Rock what you got and, ladies, from personal experience: Do burlesque. It's awesome xx " Totally agree! Don’t much like my mum tum, but I have it because of my youngest, and ironically the PND I experienced led to me doing burlesque, which gave me the confidence to start to love my body- even when I have my hang ups (which are daily, poor Mr must be sick of me whinging) I find something I like and focus on that. It works. Rock the bits you love, and no one will really notice the bits you don’t. It works, I’ve challenged a few status quo’s now, and getting stronger with my acceptance of me xx

Don’t think he thought so a couple of hours ago, when I was whinging about myself, again! Comparing myself to others and how I am lacking, but afterwards I was speaking to a woman who expressed her own body confidence issues, and then saw a thread praising one particular look, so did this post. "Ive been slim, fat, fat fat, fat, slim, thin, thin thin, thin, slim, fat now im fat fat. I've realised my weight has no effect or affect (never know which one) on my mental health. Ive been happy fat fat. And incredibly sad and down thin thin.. But that was due to circumstances. Divorce etc. Now im happy and im fat fat. And be happy slim when it happens. #mentalhealthmatters" Glad you’re happy, and it does indeed x My ex used to play mind games, flirt with younger and slimmer women, not tell them he was actually with me, then enjoy it when they let me know of his interest in them. He cheated on me and actually left me for a girl much bigger than me. The problem was that as I got slimmer, because the stress was affecting my mental health and my body, he lost interest. Lost the weight- as in him, regained my self respect and found happiness xx

"There's a BBC social video doing the rounds on faceache at the moment. It talks about how society teaches us to apologise for our bodies. It crushes our spirits, even our hopes that we once had as a child. The ambition and drive goes because society gives us all these hang ups . Instead we should focus more on the person rather than the shell we live in. We should celebrate the amazing things our bodies can do. We should be empowered and empower others. For me the self loathing is too deep. Apologising for and disliking my body is as natural to me as breathing. It's too late to change my perspective that much. However I also realise that flaws to me brought life into the world, they are signs of the life I'm living and the things I experience. I don't rely on others for my self worth, I've realised it has to come from within and now I see my worth as about far more than how I'm looking or the size of my clothes. " We all know that our self worth is more than the aesthetics of our bodies, but sometimes it’s good to focus on something we like about them as well. We can all something we like about our nature or personality, but many of us struggle to see anything attractive about us physically. This post is in response to the many posts focusing on praising one physical attribute while negating another. It’s not so much about others validating our self worth, but something positive we see when we look at ourselves. I totally get your point though xx

OP we'd be all over you like a bad suit, same with all the lovely ladies and gents on this thread. Great legs? Well just make others look at how they go all the way up and make an ass of themselves. Fine pair of shoulders? show em off, lovely boy. Gorgeous girls? up front and centre. Cute ass, wear tight jeans, how do you get into those? Start by saying hello.. Wicked grin..oh yeah. Love it. "We are all so obsessed with dress size and weight. I dont own a pair of scales because if I did I'd belief I needed to lose at least a stone and half for my height. Dont give a dame if I'm a 6.8.10 or 12 as one persons 10 is different from another. You know how you feel for your height, age etc. Being happy with yourself comes from within. Be the best you can be with what you have. Happiness starts with loving yourself in your own skin not worrying about whatever Tom,Dick and Harry thinks about you then you set yourself free from all this bullshit. Amen." No one would disagree, but this post isn’t specific to dress size etc, it’s about identifying something people, who maybe aren’t confident in their bodies, like about themselves. We all know that our self worth is more than the aesthetics of our bodies, but sometimes it’s good to focus on something we like about them as well. We can all something we like about our nature or personality, but many of us struggle to see anything attractive about us physically. This post is in response to the many posts focusing on praising one physical attribute while negating another. It’s not so much about others validating our self worth, but something positive we see when we look at ourselves. I totally get your point though xx I agree, I really wasn't trying to change the direction of your thread at all. It just felt like a relevant comment " It is relevant, we do tend to focus on the negative things about ourselves, and I think any response is relevant, as long as it doesn’t belittle anyone else, and turn what are positive intentions into something negative. Your response isn’t like that btw xx

"You have a gorgeous figure OP I am thinking of starting a burlesque dance class to give me body confidence rather than focusing on changing anything Thank you. The best burlesque artistes I’ve worked with have been a size 6, a guy, and a size 28, all amazing, sexy and confident xx " Thanks I am definitely going to give it a try as I know it’s my own feelings and not that of others that impact on me. I’m thinking burlesque will give me that sexy feeling rather than going to a gym class to tone my body xx

"I know what you mean about body confidence. I'm a chunky monkey and I ain't the most well endowed which isn't something many seem to like on here however what I like about myself is that I don't tend to let it bother me and I'm a bit of an exhibitionist so I am happy to show anyone who is interested my full body for them to comment on I however love all bodies of all shapes and sizes. We are all unique and that's what makes us. So let's get our kits off and enjoy life " Glad you’re happy in yourself. Started this post because I was chatting to someone earlier and they were talking about their body confidence issues. Came on the forums and there were threads that focused on certain physical attributes, belittling those that didn’t fit it. Of course we should focus on our inner selves, but why not also look at what we like about ourselves physically too? None of us fit a mould, so why not embrace something positive and rock the hell out of it xx

If someone doesn't like it that is their problem and not mine although I feel that it does hinder my chances of meets unfortunately due to people wanting this well chizzled gym fit male with a ten foot willy. Unfortunately for most that ain't the case. I love seeing lasses and lads on here who don't fit that mould enjoying themselves just like I do.

I woke up one morning and decided I didn't like the way I felt, I didn't like the way he made me feel. I worked out lost weight and I love the way I look. No one will ever make me feel that way again." I’m so glad for you. No one should do that. That’s their lack of confidence and self worth doing that. Both my exes did that, my ex husband still likes to have a dig, but I ignore him and have banned him using any words that refer to body size to our girls. I suffered for years, and I’ll be damned if he’s doing that to my girls. Best thing you did was that divorce. Freed you from him! "Plus years of playing rugby then being a doorman for years u get to a point where u dont really care anymore about what negative things get said and its just deflects off " My ex did that for me. Now it’s water off a ducks back. I was a nurse for years, looked down upon by some of the others as I’m so heavily tattooed- we wore white uniforms so they would show at times- but I did my job and cared about my patients. I had an abusive hubby and severely autistic daughter at home, they were nothing! Now I just have the daughter (and our youngest child) and am so much happier xx

Need to remember that it can be unlearnt as much as it can be learnt so letting go of negative thoughts is as possible as gaining them, it just seems harder at times. " It is! I spent my teenage years and early twenties being told I was pretty enough, just needed to lose weight- that obsession to be accepted, and other issues, led the eating disorder I’d developed to get out of control. Eventually I was helped to overcome it, it was seeing my daughter do what I did. It shocked me and when we had to help her get over worrying weight loss, I vowed to recover. Now words that are negative about the body are banned in my house, my youngest has a healthy attitude to her size. She is very petite, my oldest a bigger girl due to medication, and her dad caused her to focus on it, but in a negative way. Stopped that! When she goes to his, if he says anything now, she tells him that words like that are swear words in our house, and he shouldn’t swear. I love her confidence. xx

Need to remember that it can be unlearnt as much as it can be learnt so letting go of negative thoughts is as possible as gaining them, it just seems harder at times. It is! I love her confidence. xx" My early life influenced me very negatively as well. As mean as I am to myself, my daughter hasn’t heard my negative self talk because I hope she stays free of that. My mother was horrific and my ex husband not much better. Always was told I was fat and picked apart. Mr. Cagey is wonderful, and very good about boosting me, but it’s hard work, I’m my own enemy and changing those messages is hard work. It’s great that you’ve broken those messages and empowered your children. My daughter is 7 and I hope we can make it easier for her to have less hang ups. This site has been good for my confidence for sure

It’s easy to focus on what we don’t have (I do) but it’s the perception / judgement of others who should know better which sparks. People should take a few mins before realising the power of their words. Sounds like you’re cultivating the right environment. You have a great figure and I hope you’re comfortable with it ok bad days and rockin’ it on others
