Neither can sitting in the sun, smoking, drinking, going out on the streets of London, eating too much takeaway, consuming bacon, too much or too little water...basically everything in excess is unhealthy....
There are much worse things to think about being "unhealthy" than your beloved pet showing some affection...

Personally it’s not for me. If people let their own dogs do it to them though that’s up to them.
It annoys me though when you visit someone’s house and they let their dog jump all over you licking your face like you’ll enjoy it just as much as they do! |

I think dogs are the only being that are capable of loving you more than they love themselves.
I’d bet there are less germs in a dog kiss than a door handle.
Anybody coming to my home needs to know my dogs are my family and they are simply a guest. Don’t like dogs, don’t visit. Simples.

Given dogs are prone to licking their own bollocks and sniffing the arse's of other dogs the face licking thing is a big no. Plus the random shit they get in their mouths like well, shit, half dead animals and the part rancid not for human consumption food fed to them I will not entertain any face liking. Had my dog for 13 years until she sadly died and I miss her so much.
Made me so ill when she died but if you're not a dog lover you just wouldn't understand.
My dog brought more happiness into my life than any human being ever has or will.
What a beautiful world it would be if people had hearts like dogs x |

I don’t like my dog doing it really but she can’t help herself, if we say “no face” she stops she just gets excited.
I don’t like strange dogs jumping or licking me at all. We have a dog but I am not a dog person at all, strangely. It’s like how I have a child but I like just mine the best and others are a bit annoying lol. - Mrs |

I couldn't care what posters think about my views on dogs. I don't keep them, prefer them to stay away. Hated the one in the restaurant that farted and the one that slobbered all over a table. I delivered mail for some time. Yes poochie may be cute to you but it may still prefer to bite the postman. Plus poop-a-scoop bag chuckers are simply diabolical.
I love nature but not overly pampered pets. |

Did something happen when you were younger to bring it on?
I was brought up around dogs (my Grandad bred Boxers & Whippets), so they have always been in my life and it always takes me aback when people don't like them
That said, my Grandad kept horses too and I am scared shitless of horses. Their size and strength is intimidating (to me)

I’m the same, I have four tiny dogs and Benji has really bad anxiety so is a licker. He constantly kicks you and if you tell him no, he thinks he’s done wrong and gets anxious and wants to make it all better, so will give you more kisses to calm himself down |

Love my dog, she’s the best friend and companion. I hate it when she licks my face. Almost puke if her tongue goes in my mouth.
Maybe stems from an abused German Shepard we adopted when I was a kid, he licked my face and then stood panting, his own shit all over his teeth. The shit eating was a habit that took years to break in him. It was part of how he survived before we got him, other than that an amazing, lovely dog that wouldn’t hurt a fly.
That was the end of cute doggie face licks for me. Watching the you’ve been framed videos where a little dog is just going to town licking inside someone’s mouth are a gagger too.

My bulldogs are all upto date with their jabs, regular flea'd and wormed. They're cleaner and healthier then most snotty nosed, coughing and nit infested kids... yet I bet you and others like would think nothing of having a child you know, kiss, hug and climb all over you??

Completely on board with this. We don't give a flying monkey what other people think about our dogs giving us kisses because rest assured, we care more about our dogs than the opinion or attitude of a complete stranger.

I had my dog for 18 years and loved her to pieces. Never been able to have a dog since as feel its wrong of me...stupid i know.
She was bought up never being allowed to lick anyones faces so she never even tried. The thought of her licking her bits then mine or someone elses face just did nothing for me. But to each their own. |
