Have you ever had a Lucid dream (dream you're aware of having) that you could not control in any kind of way?
That happened to me last night, and since they're very very rare I doubt I'll be having another one |

Iv only ever had one and it was terrifying!
It was about 8years ago and I still remember it in great detail. |

"Yes, had an alien abduction dream a few years ago and it was terrifyingly real. The thought it might actually have been real is even more terrifying! "
Is it possible this was one of those anal sleep assault situations? |

"A lucid dream is one in which you can control what is happening, if you can’t it’s not lucid dreaming "
That's what I thought but I googled it this morning and it says that you can have control of the dream to certain extent but that's not necessary for it to be lucid. |

Yep, Ive had them somewhat regularly my entire life, occasionally with sleep paralysis along side too.
Some can be exhilarating others downright terrifying however. |

I was about to say this , then started thinking ,
Actually there maybe a halfway ,or degrees of "lucidity" so in the above case there is no control of events aspect however I think it could be reasoned there was indeed control of the thoughts ie near conscious thinking , awareness far more lucid? Than normal dreaming , I'd go so far to say from my experience only, one first needs to become conscious in the dream, to know you are in a dream and test it hard , because to yourself at that time it feels so real as you can think and reason , however test yourself hard and you start to predict events , push harder you can travel , or indeed do anything
I think maybe a dream is so close to a possible reality but is very bad it drives you to think, search for a test |

It takes a while to become aware you're in control though right? |
