Apple. Android seems like a copycat version of apple to me, at least as far as the interface is concerned. Having said that some android phones are pretty cool; like my partner’s Huawei has a clock app that shows the minute and second hands, which I really like. Apple doesn’t. |

Luke: Android, because I refuse to be one of those fawning buffoons who think that Steve Jobs was their personal saviour and pays through the nose for stuff that I can't work out how the hell to use because it's so f---ing unintuitive.
Hannah: Loves everything Apple. |

"Android, no brand loyalty, I go for best value for performance.
Smarty pants..."
I just don't see the point in buying £800-£1200 phone that does the exact same thing as a £300-500 phone.
They sell those phones by advertising stupid gimmicks like a 30x hybrid zoom, vein reading, wave motion response...
Like who on earth is going to use that? You might use it once as a party trick but then you've spent £500 for a feature you've used once |

"Apple more apps "
"As of that period, Android users were able to choose between 2.46 million apps. Apple's App Store remained the second-largest app store with almost 1.96 million available apps" |

To be fair I started using Apple back in the day they were worth the extra money and simply can’t be arsed to change now. However the points the Android users are making are also valid.
I’m going to fall back on a Fab favourite and say..... it’s all down to personal choice |

Android:- don't like to be restricted as apple OS does, security feature is not at par but is apple OS secure 100%? So why pay more and once you buy 800-1000£ phone you can change soon, wherein 500£ phone can be |

I've allways used android. But I've had problems connecting the sat nav to my car.
Someone suggested to try his apple phone to see if it would work and it worked perfectly. The sat nav looked better on my cars screen and it was easy to use. It even showed me a music option which I am yet to see with my android phone.
So now I'm swaying towards apple. |

Apple phone are expensive but they are better quality and last longer.
Android phones have so many glitches but they do offer value for money
Do you want the very best or value for money?
It’s a personal choice

If it works for you stick to it, I don't care what phone people use, whether it's apple or android or even windows. Their money their choice, but it does annoy me when they spread misinformation.

"Apple more apps
One of the reasons why I bought my first phone was because I was told android had more apps.
I guess it was a lie then lol. "
If you think about it deeply, you only need a few apps and they are available on both platforms |

I think it depends on the quality of the phone as well. My last phone was an expensive Samsung phone and this time I bought a cheap Huawei.
I bought it because the salesman said it had a higher spec than some of the expensive phones.. So I thought why not.
It doesn't run so good as my old phone though. |

One plus is best when it comes to Android but not as good quality as Apple

Android, its more open, it does not block conent stuff like adult content. Its walled garden is more open and less restrictive.
A walled garden is when you get everyone into your apps for social/messaging/music/movies
Apple has a bigger history of stealing ideas/technology. They even tried to steal their processors ha. I'm not a fan of that.
Both are not great though. They were good on limited spec phones, but now middle range phones are perfectly capable of running full operating systems, so we need to shift to something else. |

Well then why ask?
Apple are the biggest tech thieves on the planet. They bankrupted an English company taking their graphics stuff. They tried to steal heart rate monitors for their watch, they were caught passing info to intel from Qualcomm, qualcomm sued and now apple have to go back to them for processors.
Their operating system and android are shit because they cant let the app developer use extra cores, the extra cores are just for show.
Apple bans all adult apps, and you have to complie any apple app on an apple product you cant compile them on windows or linux.
Apple blocks all apps that are adult only content. You do know thats the reason you have to visit the fabswinger website instead of download a fabswinger app? Because apple wont allow such an app on their market, ever.
Apple is a product for people who need to be hugged and told everything is going to be okay, and kept inside a garden with a wall around it safe from the big bad world out there. |

Sailfish would be good, but its limited release, and you have to pay for it, but you would be able to write much more powerful apps. |

I'm fine with Android, thanks. It's basic Linux anyway, so once you get to the bottom of it, I can do enough to suit my needs |

Do apple still make all their basic features really exclusive so they only work with other apple products, like when iPhones could only send picture messages to other iPhones? And are they still taking technologies that have existed for decades and slapping an apple sticker on it and convincing everyone they invented it, like when they changed the name of "video calling" to "FaceTime" and everyone lost their minds? (Oh, and restricted it to other apple products) |

Android
But I'm hopeless with technology
Currently I can't hear people on the calls, it's really faint. I must have done something, so I'm off to Samsung today for some help. Must hide all my naughty pics first!

As Lib said; it's a phone. I never understand why people get so abusive because people prefer different things.
I prefer apple because it feels more intuitive to me. I've currently got an android phone which works fine though.
Calling people 'sheep' or other ridiculous names is puerile.

I loved my flip phone back in the 90s. It had light up numbers. Bleeped when I hit the key pad and told me on the screen what number I was calling. I felt so cool pulling out the aerial, flipping it open and speaking into it. What more could you want from a phone ? |

Android all the way here for both of us. Don't want to be locked into the Crapple ecosystem, having to buy dingles that cost a fortune to make industry standard accessories work, pay a fortune for devices that don't do anything any better than anything else.
Still each to their own, we all have different likes and dislikes. |

I like the ability to save as many photo's as I want, then when the memory card gets full, I buy one with twice the capacity and transfer the job lot.
I can also choose what music to have on my phone without iTunes faffing about with it.
I know there's the iCloud for picture storage, but I don't want everything on the cloud.
Been a samsung user for about 10 years and always been happy with them. Personal preference and all that. The main driver for me is Samsung went IP67 well before iPhone's became water resistant. |

If an Apple logo was put onto a steaming turd, people would buy steaming turds in their millions.
I've suffered a work iPhone for too many years. It has just been replaced by an Android phone. I am happy now. |

Been an Android user for a long time, but I am harsh on my phones and they often get damaged on work.
Android gives a lot more bang for your buck, is much more customisable and has less clutter.
I'm on my first (second hand) iPhone and whilst I prefer android, I'm not too disappointed with apple.
I only bought it because it was cheap, I will say spare parts are cheap and easily obtainable so hopefully it will be repaired where a Chinese Android became beyond repair.
I do think Apple made it unnecessarily difficult to customise, impossible to install 3rd party apps without jailbreak and then mobile banking stops working. Even putting a custom ringtone on was difficult, these things are standard with Android. |

I can just about remember phones like that. Some were like house bricks.. My uncle use to carry one around in a suitcase lol.
I got into mobile phones late in life, because I thought to my self.. Why would anyone want to carry a phone around with them It just seemed stupid to me at the time.
Now I can't imagine life without one. |

Do your research before you buy.
I think Samsung and Apple have very comparable cameras,
Pixel and Huawei take better pictures, but for videos Apple is doing better and the new Samsung note 10 is just another level. |

The A5 is a great phone and in fact when I got mine the spec was pretty much the same as the S8 which had just been replaced as the top of the range model by the S9 but was still widely available for at least double the price of the A5.
Have just upgraded to the A70 which again is half the price of the S10 for a similar spec |
