Obviously we like to portray a certain amount of confidence here but some characteristics make it so difficult.
For me it’s a woman who’s cleverer than me (not to do with formal education, just really sharp) and I also dribble a bit at a woman who makes me laugh.
Throw in a body that they’re mostly comfortable in and eyes that dance with mine as we talk and I’m an incoherent mess. I mean even more incoherent than usual.

I like passionate people. I don't mind what it's about particularly, I just like to see there's some there. Add in intellectual curiosity and the ability to call me on my nonsense in a witty way and I swoon. |

Somebody that can totally captivate me in conversation, with a sparkle in their eyes and a confidence that they know I can be in their arms at the drop of a hat ! |

Ooh yes. That intellectual sparkle. Not necessarily, for me, intelligent or highly educated, but a willingness to question or engage.
Other things for me, too, but that's huge. |

that all sounds so dreamy OP
what flips it for me is the passion to stay talking the attention he gives he does not have to talk about biochemistry but he has to have chemistry an that is not litmus paper but could be bunsen burner to see if there is spark to ignite me from within and want him. Skill to keep me interested the rest of him will follow like the big band leader of swing himself... |
