"Nigel 'The Dark Destroyer' Benn, the Benn vs McClellan fight in I think 1995 was the most punishing fight I ever saw. Unfortunately left McClellan brain damaged . "
That was a brutal fight. I rememeber watching it live in ITV. |

I sort of fell out of love with the sport after that. I remember the build up, McClellan was no fly by night boxer he was just as mean and dangerous. From my memory Nigel was struggling in the earlier rounds.
I boxed in the Army not much, but after seeing and going through some of the training regimes I have the utmost respect for anyone who enters the ring |

"Muhammad Ali
Yep. Have to go with Ali. As much for his refusal to be drafted as for his boxing.
This.. and his sparkling personality. "
He sort of started the 'trash talk' we see today, yes he was very articulate and extremely funny, but also the architect of what I don't like in boxing. |

Nigel Benn was knocked out of the ring in the first round and struggled. He was lucky that the fight wasn't stopped.
I feel sorry for McClellan. He was an awesome fighter. |

I need to look it up on YouTube, glad your memory is better than mine. |
