Long time follower, first time actually posting but I thought I’d see if there are any true nerds/geeks in here. So I mean those who long for the release days of comic books, who get as much enjoyment from a game or album coming out as they would from having sex, those who get into genuinely heated debates over whether or not Han shot first (He definitely did). So yeah whose out there and what do you fanboy/girl over?

This is true but I’m wanting to know what you’re a nerd about.

There's many different flavours of geek my friend. Not every geek fits in the stereotypical (and fairly normalised) comic book geek box.

It’s why I love the concept. I did mention a mix of gaming, movies, music and comics in my post as to ascertain that I wasn't pigeonholing the concept into a stereotype. Just interested in what flavour geek people are to use your vernacular.

Sea of jelly and doughnuts

I'm a costume designer, so I buy and collect rare costume books. Mainly anything to do with late 19 century fashion and underwear.

Film or series that has any historical costumes, I'm usually there picking at whats wrong.... A bad costume can ruin a film for me hahaha

I'm also into Anime, Sci-fi and Architecture.... I do wear glasses too.

I'm definitely a nerd and a geek!

Physicist by trade, even...

I play D&D and love it, think the new Star Wars movies are breaking the nice lore the universe used to have (fight me), stream games on my youtube channel...

Quite the stereotypical geek, I guess! But oh well, I have fun with it!

Also love all the Zelda games I've played (going through BotW currently during my long flights)

I’m very much on your side. A lot of the 90’s/00’s expanded universe Star Wars graphic novels were incredible and now Disney have decided to scrap then try to reintegrate parts??? Just stupid.

Also in terms of Zelda I have a life sized hylian shield and master sword. Huge Zelda fan and BOTW was majestic

Indeed! The pinching of parts from the novels and twisting them into a silly mess is annoying... But oh well. I still go back to and enjoy the old movies, and the KotOR games. Graphically they're not that great, but story-wise the first one is amazing. It's the same with Fallout; I really like Fallout 1 and 2, where you could actually roleplay rather than just shoot everything!

The new trilogy is an insult to the characters and mythology of the original trilogy which is where the core fan base come from, too much identity politics in the new films just for the sake of it whilst demonising and destroying beloved characters. It hurts to be a fan.

The best of recent Star Wars adaptations has been rebels. I thought that was absolutely brilliant. Marvel have also nailed the comic books in relation to characterisation. It’s just the films that lack heart

I really like the animated Clone Wars series, fits very nicely between Episode 2 and 3, and expands the universe (making ep 3 much better)
