Coming in to the crem I want One Step Beyond by Madness
As the curtains close and the coffin goes down I want either Light My Fire by The Doors or Smoke Gets In Your Eyes by The Platters.
And then as people leave I want It Must Be Love by Madness |

I'm going for the full New Orleans street parade, thanks. It's allowed to be sad on the way to the burial, but on the way back it's one big celebration party. No black outfits allowed, and everyone should dance and get pissed and laugh and cry and laugh some more. |

There was a story I read in the papers many years ago about a crematorium that had to apologise to family for messing up the music at a funeral. They were supposed to play "Every time we say goodbye" but they accidentally played "Smoke gets in your eyes". |

On a related note - I was at Spurs many years ago when they played a song at half time that they announced was in memory of a fan who had been killed in a motorbike accident a few weeks before and whose family were all at the game...the song? Road To Hell by Chris Rea!!
There was a collective gasp went up from the crowd when it started and a number of letters of complaint sent to the point that at the next home game they had to put a piece in the programme to explain it had been requested by the family as it was his favourite song. |
