Does it really work?
My daughter just trapped her finger in the cupboard door and had tears streaming down her face (bless) but soon as i kissed it better she stopped.
Wonder where the whole 'kissing it better' thing came from? As an adult ive used it a few times sarcastically and even if it was kissed better,, its had no physical change to the amount of pain i was suffering, but my 2yr old stops crying immediately as if it was a miracle potion. Kids eh  |

as a brutal dad my little phyco girl knows that if she does something that may result in pain then it's her choice and she must accept the consequence of it and so she doesn't cry unless it really hurts,
then i cry even more than she does but i don't let her see it.
cut's and grazes she just laughs off now but to be honest i find it scary

Yes it works because its physical mother to child contact.
No matter what pain, be in physical or mental, a hug from someone you know without doubt loves you unconditionally will make you feel better. It worked as an adult with my mum. If I was upset or hurt I'd go to her and put my head on her shoulder and it felt immediately better. Pain is not less, but it feels like its halved cos its shared, if that makes sense |
