Thats the prob, I don;t want a12 month contract with Sky as I'm not a TV watcher, so it's a lot of expense. But you enjoy, just please don;t come on here giving results lol

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Not sure if this will work. I still have my analouge satellite dish and one of the German channels shows the F1 live. I`m sure the digital satellite has the German channels too but you may need a dual feed on the dish or something like that. Speak to a good satellite dish installer.

Am I the only one who finds F1 boring?

I'm a big petrol head and used to deal with F1 merchandising and fanclubs but it bores the arse off me.

No"

I thought there was something wrong with me for not liking it

All that money to watch a car whizz past that sounds like a party balloon being let down in a nano second

Try downloading a streaming prog (not sure i am allowed to mention it)

I watch live matches on a sat afternoon and most if not all premiership matches are shown. Yes F1 will be shown as well.

It all depends on your internet speed though.

We dont have sky and for fotty and F1 you dont need it.

Why is it a pisstake?....

F1 is a multi million pound business, it attracts multi million pound sponsorship.....why should it be the god given right of the BBC, a non commercial channel, to exclusively show F1 in the UK for evermore?

F1 is a business.....television broadcasting is a business....high time people realised this instead of expecting a free ride on the back of the license fee.

Hello Jane,

"high time people realised this instead of expecting a free ride on the back of the license fee." A contradiction, surely, as we have to pay the licence fee so how is F1 free when it was on BBC??

I would watch SKy if I could get the same deal as I get on ESPN, i.e pay a nominal fee just get a specific channel. But no, Sky will only add F1 to an existing package, which I don't want. I'm not prepared to pay about £400 per year just to watch F1 on Sky.

Then ESPN should have made a rival bid for F1, it was open to all bidders....that's thing about modern broadcasting....it's not done for charity, it's done on a commercial basis, and a cut throat commercial basis it is too.

I don't know how much SKY paid for the rights to F1, but you can bet your arse it didn't come cheap....little about F1 comes cheap.

I do not like F1 at all.. Gone is the racing and teams being allowed to experiment on cars during races.. Too tight regulation, pit stops that can change the course of the "procession"! That is like penalties in football.. All that money on players and they have to have a shoot out?

At about £400 per year, the F1 chanel will become very old, very quickly! They are going to be showing the same stuff for every race, interviewing the same people time after time and the re-runs will be boring!

I would have done a buy one get one free for sky! You bought half, you get the other half free..

I suppose the answers on here would be the same for ANY sport if sky had bought it?

Torquay

But F1 doesn't cost £400 a year extra for most of their existing customers does it?....and they have plenty of existing customers who qualify for this....millions in fact.

We live in a highly commercialised broadcasting world of sport....very little comes for nothing, and the more that UK governments cut BBC funding the more free to view live sport will dissapear from our screens.
