So tomorrow sees the unofficial start to the premier football season.

Are you supporting the Blues ( ) or Reds ( ) and will it make any difference at all to the season ahead ?

I was thinking about this yesterday. Might be a daft idea, but why don't they hold the charity Shield in the States?

Most UK fans I know see it as a glorified friendly, and those that go seem to do so out of a sense of obligation rather than actual desire to see their team win it, so we would lose very little.

From an American perspective, they'd get a high profile (relatively) competitive match with most of the star players involved instead of the B team friendly tours they currently pay to see.

If the FA are genuinely serious about spreading. The game to the USA it's a decent first step.
