I was just reading about oral stds and it made me think about fab and how many people are giving oral without protection.
Surely there is also a high risk of catching a STD in your mouth and throat? |

Which is why it’s important to have the vaccine. The NHS recommends men whom meet men up to the age of 45 to have the vaccine. The FDA in the US also recommends women up to the age of 45. They say it’s still worth having the vaccine even if you’ve been previously exposed, as the vaccine covers 9 high and low risk (wart causing) strains. |

True. It’s when HPV becomes a persistent infection - when someone’s immune system isn’t able to fight it off, is when it may become a problem. |

There are loads of risks. Highly recommended that you have a throat swab if you are doing oral with out with lots of different partners. A lot of gum clinics don't routinely do throat swabs unless you are bi/gay and doing male to male contact but if you say you are a swinger having oral sex with numerous partners they will throat swab you. They prefer not to às the mouth and throat is a filthy place and it's difficult to test that area. |

I know quite a bit about it because they vaccinate girls against it at school now and I looked into what it was quite thoroughly before consenting to it. It’s a more common cause of cervical cancer than other cancers but throat cancer is possible from it but apparently rare. In women it shows up on a smear test usually as abnormal cells. There’s talk now of having boys vaccinated as well as girls. |

However if you are over school age it's not available on the NHS and Lloyds pharmacy do it for nearly £500! |

My local clinic is offering the Hpv vaccine to men who have sex with other men. It's believed to be one of the causes of prostate cancer
Sadly though they arent offering the vaccine to women.
But girls for a few years have received it in school and will soon be giving it to boys too in school.
The clinic also doesn't offer dental dams, they have little faith in it.
They have however been handing out more flavoured condoms due to the increase of syphilis in the area.
The tests here they do throat and vaginal, anal swab I have to ask for. Even when I ask for full screen.
I've had to ask for the hep b vaccine also. I've pointed out I'm a swinger that didn't stop one doctor telling me I visited the clinic too often. Nurse was not impressed.
I've never been offered PrEP but my playmate was offered it, also he was given the Hpv vaccine.
Different clinics offer different things to different people.

I didn't say it was the major cause for prostate cancer. I said one of the causes.
Also recommended that anyone who had any prostate surgery to abstain from anal sex entirely for minimum of 6 months.
Men having sex with women increases risk of cervical cancer. So from your point of view women should be lesbians then let's reduce the risk of cancer even more.
Sounds ridiculous now doesn't it.
Let's just go with this, people have sex with who ever they want. Hopefully do it as safer as they can do it and get regular tests.
So anyone can poke and prod what ever hole they wish as long as its consensual, enjoy themselves and give their playmate pleasures  who cares what gender a person fucks it's not your ass they poking  |

It wouldn’t make a difference which sex you’re having fun with. HPV doesn’t discriminate and you only need sexual contact (oral foreplay, etc.) to become infected. Condoms do help prevent its spreading, but since HPV can live anywhere within the genital area, it only needs skin to skin contact. Which is why it’s important for women to have regular smears. Unfortunately for men, there’s no screening for penile, anal and throat cancers, which is why the NHS recommends men whom meet men have the vaccine. It’s good that the UK has recognised the benefit of giving it to boys too now. Australia is well ahead of the world and began vaccinating boys much earlier on and they hope to eradicate HPV cancers in the next several years or so.
Statistically, having these sort of cancers is rare, as most people can fight of the virus, but the experts don’t know who can and you don’t need to be in any of the risk groups (immunodepressive, smokers) to be unable to. Just be aware.
I know someone who had a hysterectomy because she had HPV, because she was at very high risk of getting cancer and that’s after they were unable to excise the CIN3 twice. |

Same with boots £165 per shot. You need 3 shots. You don't have to pay for all shots at once though, just as and when you're having them. I think it’s well worth it. My last shot is in October. |

Thats not how it works. The HPV vaccine protects against some strains of HPV, it's certainly not a vaccination against all STI's. |
