Water drinking app

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

I've taken the plunge and downloaded an app which encourages me to drink more water. My daily gpal is 4402mls, which is around 7.7pints! I possibly drink around 2pints per day. Yikes! Apart from the obvious toilet trip increases has anyone else used a similar app and if so what were the changes you experienced?

Thanks

Once you are thirsty you are already dehydrated

I can't quite imagine needing an app. I have a bottle by my desk which I refill when it comes to an end and I drink like a fish. I know how much I drink from the number of refills. Luke

Oh I’m terrible at remembering to both drink water and eat generally. What’s the app called OP? Perhaps you can pm me?

I'm super busy at work I thought little reminders from my phone woud remind me as I'm hoping it may help with the current exhaustion I feel on a night time.

That seems really excessive to me. Isn't 2 litres considered about right. You could be putting too much strain on your liver drinking that about every day

"The usual recommendation is 2 litres. Yours is over double that. "

But that doesn't particularly mean liquid because of the water content of the food you eat so you could actually require very little liquid if you eat high water content food during the day.

You really dont need to drink that much. Most of the water we get comes from our food, whether because it contains water or as a by product from respiration.

I don’t require an app to tell me to drink.

The amount of water I drink depends on what I’m doing.

Usually around 3 litres a day, unless I’m cutting weight in which case I cut water out completely for 24 hours

You may want to check the calculations op, that's an awful lot of water.

I thought as a rule of thumb you were supposed to drink a millilitre of water per millimetre of height.
