Where I live now, there is an excellent kebab van and the owner makes his own marinade for his chicken kebab meat, as well as his own chilli sauce, and salad dressings.

I usually have a mixed doner and chicken kebab, with all the salads, and chilli peppers, a touch of chilli sauce (too sweet for my liking) and garlic mayo.

It is so big that I have to ask him to put some of the doner meat aside for laters, either for myself or the dog.

I usually can't eat it all in one go even with some of the doner meat put aside, and would eat the rest for lunch with some rice the next day or so.

Very good value for money for a fiver!

The best I had ever tasted was pork gyros with all the trimmings in a local Greek restaurants in Athens while on holiday with my late partner.

Sadly the experience is unlikely to be repeated.

Happy memories though.

"shish kebabs yes they are delicious, donner meat tastes like shit though chilli and garlic sauce together"

For years - We have always thought that Donner Meat was rank fooking rotten

until we tried some a friend had bought from a local-ish shop..

Donner with no chewy bits in it and it tastes really nice and we often travel there now for a kebab

I love kebabs but my waistline forbids them these days. Used to enjoy chicken kebabs with a hint of chilli sauce, lots of salt and lots and lots of lemon juice.

birmingham

as you can tell from my portly figure i enjoy a kebab or 3

i can make my own shami and sheesh kebabs that are out of this world but when it comes to doner kebabs theres a shop not to far from me that after slicing off the meat, they then throw it on a flame grill with bbq and chilli sauce.

served in a naan bread with salad and mayo.

ooh i'm drooling now
