When I was growing up, if a man used anything other than Swarfega to wash with, he was regarded with a certain amount of suspicion and name calling that we’ve hopefully left behind.

In these more enlightened times, blokes can actually take care of themselves better and it’s ok, perhaps helped by the male grooming industry looking at a huge target audience and fancying record growth.

What’s your favourite bit of this? Are you a slave to a face mask? Can’t live without your exfoliating shower glove? Do you have a simply punishing moisturising regime?

Put it down here, share with others why it’s so good and we can all learn that some “me time” needn’t just be wanking

Obviously I'm female and this question isn't applicable to me, but my fella loves a bath bomb!

He's still pretty old school otherwise and only really washes and wears deodorant. I've been trying to get him to look after his skin better but he's not interested and annoyingly he has lovely skin regardless.

Totally agree, nothing wrong with looking after yourself. I exfoliate twice a day, use various moisturizer, shave where required, get the inside of my nose waxed, hair cut once a week with a cut throat wet shave and hot towel treatment. Makes me feel great to be honest. I'm still every bit a man, I train in MMA, I got dirt buggy racing and go karting with the lads I just have soft skin lol

Proraso shave cream. Lathers well in hands and excess saves well on porcelain for a second shave. You'll thank me later.

I use aftershave balm, particularly for my head after I shave it as it stops it drying out. I use moisturiser on my body if my skin is feeling a bit dry. I use a really good balm for moisturising and repairing my feet which were a mess before I started using it. I exfoliate using a man washer and a brush in the shower. I use a special foot file for exfoliating my feet and getting rid of hard skin build up.

Apart from that I shave both my face and bits using Gillette Fusion Sensitive Gel and keep excessive body hair trimmed with a Phillips body groomer.

I spend hours a week on grooming

If your moisturising routine is punishing you're doing it wrong

I forgot to mention I also spend considerable time trimming and plucking nasal, ear and eyebrow hair that grow considerably faster than what little hair I’ve left on my bonce.

Pity many groomed men look like they've been washed with Windowlene.

Male and female: a selection of The Ordinary products have launched at Boots today. Look into it.

Ive got a dirty job so use the sauna/steam room daily & use face scrub & moisturise.

Once a month i go for a 'me day' with a mate this consists of-

*full body massage

*head massage

*hot stones

*facial

And have a back, crack, sack wax

I dont particularly care if its classed as girly or whatever.. i feel good from it, im 35 majority of people think im younger.

That sounds lovely. Apart from the waxing

My morning ablutions are not complete without using my L’Oréal Paris Men Expert Barber Club Wash which is of course followed by the application of some L’Oréal Paris Men Expert Barber Club Moisturiser (Short Beard). I tried Swarfega once, but it was slightly too abrasive.

I wear deodorant, shower every day and style my hair, always wear an expensive aftershave even for work and I moisturize my face every night. I'm manly but still like to take care of myself.

My dad was old skool though, when I was a teenager he used to berate me for putting deodorant on or using gel/wax in my hair "why are you spraying that puff stuff around?" or "stop putting that bloody muck in your hair"
