When you see a fascinating profile but can't message the person because you're 1 year outside their preferred age range.
Obviously it's everyones prerogative to define the parameters for the people they meet. No argument there. I do think though, that sometimes you're going to be missing out as a result.
My cock didn't drop off on my last birthday
Although, to be fair, it may as well have done.

How is it someone they're going to miss out on if they didn't want to meet that person in the first place. That's why the filter is there.
I don't worry about all the 46 year olds I may 'miss out on' because of my filters. I've got plenty of 45 and unders to work my way through. |

"They are not missing out because you can't miss something you didn't want. "
Beg to differ. Rejecting an option without adequate relevant information means that they may well be missing out on something they could want, if they gave it a chance.
Let's face it, if George Clooney (other hunky male stars are available) was 1 year over your set age range, he couldn't get a message through either...
But everyone will make their own selections in their own way. |

At 62 I'm way out of most people's age range. One year, 5 years a miss is as good as a mile. If people don't want to meet me for whatever reason I accept that we're not compatible. Nothing of mine dropped off recently either and I have a huge amount of experience and knowledge it still doesn't mean I'm what someone is looking for sexually |

"No, your cock will still be attached, it'll just be withered and unable to withstand very much. "
I hope and believe it's still fairly durable - probably never will get to put that to the test tho.
It's a cruel cruel world |

We have got out filters set a few more years over and below what we are looking for incase someone special catches our eye and I expect a lot of people do as well. So it may not be a case of just being a year over |

I absolutely get that, in principle. I just think setting hard filters removes some options. Course, the ladies have that many good opportunities that's fairly academic I suppose.

Sex is about trust and consent.
I could be "missing out" on an incredible experience by not indulging in activities I haven't consented to. I don't consent. End of discussion.
I could be "missing out" with any of my filters or selection criteria. I don't consent. End of discussion. |

I can understand feeling frustrated. There are lots of women here that I fancy, but I know from what they've said on their profile that they're not going to fancy me. However nice the dream, it's not happening.
Putting your energy into things that aren't going to happen is unproductive. But if you're expecting rejection anyway, it's easier to handle when it's not your fault. It's their filters, not anything that you have control over.
So yes, it's understandable. It's still unproductive. Take a chance on something that might be possible. You'll still get plenty of rejection, but maybe not from all of them.
If George Clooney was outside someone's filters, but they were willing to make an exception for him, I'm sure they could make the first contact. There's flexibility in the system. The important thing is to treat people with respect. That includes respecting their choices and stated preferences, and also their right to change their minds now and then. People are people, not robots. |

My preferences are there because I like those who are closer to my age. Tbh, initially was going with 40 rather than 35, I knocked 5 years instead of 12 months can't get more generous than that |

Sometimes the age range is not set in stone. If you have an attractive profile or set of nice pics, the profile of your interest might take a fancy and message you first. Small chance but still.
Make your profile more attractive OP. |
