I don't mean this to be offensive so I apologise now if it is.

I've noticed the majority of TV/TS ladies are of the older generation and I wondered why that was?

Is it a case of not knowing or accepting that side of yourself until later in life? Did it get suppressed in younger years or was it not there at all?

I understand there are issues around social norms/people judging etc so do you think now the world is becoming more educated and accepting we'll see more people embracing this side at a younger age?

I’ve been dressing since I was about 18 and been on a majority of sites. It’s had it’s ups and downs ( marriage) and I’ve come and gone regularly. I came back on full time and used birch place before I was introduced to here. I already had a good number of friends and contacts outside of the cyber world but as the tech became better over the years with the smart phones I no longer needed to lump my laptop about all over the place.

I’d put it down to technology myself.

And absolutly no offence taken on my behalf. I know who I am and what I want and I’m not bothered xx

I don't think the majority on here know the courage it takes to walk out the door. Especially feel for those girls who are larger built. I was at Sparkle a couple of weeks ago and one girl came into the bar, she must've been 6ft 5 in her heels, whilst I'm a 5ft 8 merge in the background girl.

Occasionally had some comments that can be seen as abusive, and one guy touching my bum as I walked out of the hotel again at Sparkle to compliment my outfit. I was too shocked to confront him, and late to meet some friends.

However I would certainly encourage younger girls to go out, especially to clubs, I first started in the 90s and it was a different scene, now it is more open and accepting.

Thanks Op for bringing this up, and starting a conversation

That's interesting, I hadn't really thought about the technology thing.

I can only imagine the strength it must need.

I agree, there's a clear majority of ladies in their elder years...

I feel it's more down to the lifestyle you can lead at that age - less pressure to advance your career, start a family, buy a house.... They've done that and now have time for themselves a little more. They can also slip away from the office for an afternoon a lot easier!

* This is more for CD/TV than TS, based on what I see in my small experiences in clubs! *

It's truly nerve wracking - I used to go to clubs and change there, or wait until it was dark and then go... Even now I still get butterflies when driving to a club dressed!

In my case, it wasn't there at all. Then, in my mid-30s, through pure chance and ignoring my usual inhibitions, I had a sexual encounter with a transvestite.

I became an admirer and I loved it. About 10 years later, I switched sides, so to speak, and I've loved being Alice since.

Part of me wishes I'd discovered her earlier - but the life I had before; I wouldn't change it.

That makes a lot of sense too. Also a lot of people seem to lose inhibitions a bit in later life.

How do you think it would be different if you had discovered her sooner?

I would dress in a androgynous syle in the 80s it caused no friction back then as it was accepted by most... though there where occasions I had to scarper from "bashing gangs'... I think to answer the op question it may have a lot to do with children growing up and so able to express themselves but also society is a lot more accepting now x

It's always been there, from the age of 10 at least, but I grew up in less liberal times and my peer group was incredibly homophobic. If you weren't playing rugby, knocking back pints and ogling every woman you passed, you were labelled a "limp wrist"

Thankfully, the times, they are a changing, and I'm continually overwhelmed by the number of younger people I meet, mostly at clubs, who love to engage in conversation, express interest in and absolutely accept you for, who you are. Bless each and every one of you.

Iv been dressing for 40 years.

It was so easy to "pass" when I was a teenager.

Now it's bloody hard work, lol.

I think it's when you get into your 40s that you truly know yourself xx

I'd have missed out on a couple of good relationships. They didn't last but I'm glad they happened.

I always dreamed of being changed into a girl, even as a kid it was a reoccurring dream that gave me an erection.

So it took 40yrs to realise

Not sure about swinging clubs but porn cinemas and gay saunas tend to be mainly used by the older generation so it's across the board not just TV CDs ?

More people have the confidence to embrace it a younger age nowadays, yes that's true.

This isn't a site for TV/TS though - it's a site for swingers. So it is only ever going to draw in a fraction of the community with a specific interest in shagging random people, basically.

I hadn't thought of that either. Would you say there are more younger people in other places?

I imagine they will be scattered everywhere on the internet. I honestly have no idea.

Don't think so - a dedicated TV site has the same sort of demographic IMO...

London

I only started crossdressing in 2013 at the age of 42 - after trying to live as a straight and as a gay guy.

I know it was late but I think at that age, I have just enough maturity and means to crossdress and liberate myself.

I am glad because I have truly found my other half.

Southport / Ellesmere Port

I knew from around age 9 or 10 that I was trans and have pretty much dressed all my life.

I've just got old!

However there is some truth in what the OP says. It is a biological fact that men past 40 have increasingly lower levels of testosterone and higher levels of oestrogen. This is why so many experiment with bisexuality and even cross dressing at that stage in their lives.

I’ve been dressing for as long as I can remember but like most T girls I would go through periods of guilt, throw all my clothes away and then quickly start all over again.

A few years ago I decided I was not going to get old without living some of my fantasies and I now feel so much happier being Chloe whenever I can.

I do think society now is more accepting and the internet has certainly been a huge factor - years ago you just lived in a twilight world thinking you alone were different

Thanks for raising the topic - appreciated!

Perhaps the older generation are married and having to dress in secret, hence on sites like this.

Whereas the younger generation can be more open and just go out and do it in 'the real world'.

Exactly my story and having an understanding wife makes it all the more fun

Less able to get erect, menopausal wives, macho environment at work, head of a family... controversial but many reasons a man might like to be more feminine.

I worked for a while in a high pressure restaurant. When home I was straight into my wife's knicker drawer. Loved the job, but needed to strip that uniform and sissy up.

Maybe due to the older generations giving no fs and just getting on with it?
