I got called a Greebo today. Didn’t know how to answer and I’m not speechless very often. The person then went on to say better than being a Scally or a Chav.
So how are people classifying each other today where you are? Never heard of Greebo (except Terry Pratchett) or Scally...  |

That’s not the definition that was meant. From Urban Dictionary:
A greebo is a person who listens to rock/punk/metal music and doesn't follow fashion trends.
They don't usually class themselves as being a greebo but are assigned that title by trendies/rudes. Some of them may look quite threatening but generally they are all around nice people and they resist starting fights or arguments with people who do follow trends. |

That description is accurate and dates back further to at least the 70s when I was at school in the south of England. The word Greaser was also used for the same thing.
And the group dancing moves to status quo tracks was known as the Greebo Roll. |
