"One Way Out" by The Allman Brothers Band.
I believe the song was originally recorded by Ellmore James.
The Allman Brothers live recording at The Fillmore East in 1971 from their album "Eat a Peach" is astonishingly good. It was recently used on the soundtrack of the (surprisingly very good) Tom Cruise movie "American Made"

For anyone (and I guess that's most of us) who knows the utter pain of an unrequited love. Heartrending.
