Hi all. I've recently had a major operation and its left me with a big scar... straight line from groin to breastbone. Its made me a little self conscious.
Question is, would seeing a scar like this turn you off?

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest. If you have concerns about rejection based on that scar, just pop it on your profile so people who may be squeamish would know |

Scars are like tattoos, they each tell a tale about a particular point in someones life, i often find myself intrigued about their origins (both scars and tattoos). They always make me more interested in knowing a person, definately not the other way round!
Wear it with pride, and enjoy its story! |

I wrote my other reply btw without looking at your profile or knowing you had tattoos, i only checked when you put the pic of the scar up and saw you had the tattoos! How coincidental!
It defo shouldnt reduce your confidence, thats an epic one too! |

I’m a bit like Frankenstein with the number of op’s I’ve had from injuries through playing rugby & football. They define my journey so far and I’m not bothered about them nor do I care what other people think. |

Is it wromg that the first thing that came to mind was a guy sitting at the top of it fishing and the scar was his line, it would even have live bait on the hook haha |

Hi Ben
So 2 years ago I had stomach surgery left me with a 3-4” scar which I hate, last year I had a peg implant, this had left me with a small button hole (sealed) similar to another belly button but higher up..
These are the life scars and are as much of me as my arms or legs..
I have issues which cannot be seen, my spine has a problem which makes life uncomfortable
But hey I look at like this, scars or not, cancer or not, I’m still here And surviving !!!!!
All the best..
Always available to chat to on here
X

I had a issue with my colon. They removed 60cm of it and replumbed me. 500 odd internal stitches and a nice super glued exterior wound and here's the result |

I've had a large scar all of my life ...growing up and in my early adult years I was very self conscious about it but having been on the scene and meeting some lovely ladies I have now accepted it's part of me and nobody seems to bother about it in fact a few ladies actually liked it |

Bio oil good for scars..
Keep scar out of sun if less than 12m old.. better healing.

I have a huge 18" long scar on my leg as the result of a accident many years ago. I get self conscious of it at time but most times people don't notice. Only had one case where someone was put off by it but that was her loss not mine. We all have scars they are part of us and they tell a story. |

So good to see you posting about this. You know it wouldn't put me off, at all. Plus, I can run my finger from the top to... the tip.
A family member had the same op (years ago) and the scar has never held him back.

I'm surprised the drug lord hasn't had the same result. |

Scars absolutely do not phase me. There was a great song that summed my thoughts up exactly...
"If everybody looked the same, we'd get tired of looking at each other..."
The only thing that ever puts me off is deep insecurity; being comfortable with who you are is sexy as hell. |

Wouldn't bother me, scars are interesting.
I am facing heart surgery in the future, so will be scarred. Not bothered
I already have two 6" scars on my ankle from an internal fixation, love them. |

Absolutely not. You should see the huge one down my back - mole removal - it's huge and jagged and I love it. Scars are interesting and beautiful! You should post a pic |

I haven't had a hysterectomy but (I think!) I get where you are coming from. It's been suggested due to some gyne issues I've had. |
