This made me smile

My colleagues little 'un is going away camping with cubs this weekend

She is 9. It's the first time she has ever been away from home other than nights at Grandma's etc.

The little 'un is totally thrilled and excited. My colleague however is worried sick.

She told the little un last night that she was worried.

The response was 'now you know how I felt when you went to that music festival'

Breaking the seal on a new jar of instant coffee, I know that it’s manufactured, but there’s something so very satisfying about stabbing a spoon through the foil and inhaling that coffee smell!!!

southend

A bright red sky in the morning, when I'm a work and can see the sun rising.

A full moon.

Noticing something that no one else has seen. Walking home the other night from work at 1am, and a little field mouse ran across the path in front of me, dropped the bit of food it was carrying, stopped picked it up, seemed to look at me, then carried on running.

"Some of the strange questions my boys expect me to have the answer for eg "Mum who do you think would win in a fight... Gorillas or Lions?" "
All big cats chase and leap on their fleeing prey. In that situation, the lion would win.

Face to face, the lion would most likely back down, because the Gorilla would rear up to its full height and the lion would see it as too formidable a foe.

If they did fight face to face, the lion would only win if it got a killer bite hold first.

If the gorilla got the lion before the lion could rip a major artery, it could break the lion's neck, or at least dislocate its forelegs.

So, there are lots of variables, and I think the result could be different every time.

Also, a gorilla has a very frightening aggressive display, where it roars, beats its chest, and tears up small trees and throws them - remember that apes have hands that grasp, and a male gorilla could throw a small tree far enough to stop a lion

Of course, we are talking about a big male gorilla here. The females are far smaller, more matching a human male in weight, and would be no match for a lion.

the person who said the ape would run is wrong. A dominant male gorilla generally has a large family, and it is his job to protect them - that is why he is so big, it serves no other purpose. He would not back down with his family behind him. hope this helps the next time they ask you
