Shut doors in the house, keeping cool rooms cooler

Breezes cool but moving hot air is a way to cook, how the convection oven works . Seek cool moving air
Use natural fabrics only - such as 100% cotton. Poly-cotton etc will trap heat. All sheets, pillow cases and linens should be cotton. Cotton clothes will likewise be cooler. Aim to have few layers, as each one traps heat.
If upstairs is too hot, rest or sleep downstairs
Get out of cities, where the heat island effect traps heat that is radiated, when it would otherwise be cooler. Outdoors, near water etc,may be cooler at the right time of day, where there's little city architecture.
Open home windows when safe, out of hours, with a throughput.
Keep a cool-bag with you, such as in the bedroom, with cold goodies - drinks, wet flannels etc.
Several frequent cooling and some longer periods of personal cooling, such as long cold baths, will sustain good health.
Obviously hydrate sufficiently, to keep your body able to self-regulate better.
Expect to do less and to do it more slowly, as a core mindset, cultivating a relaxed, peaceful vibe.
I've not put my pillows in the freezer, which I've heard of - maybe try? |
